How can I reinforce my jet pack?

I'm currently working on my jet pack, and I quickly discovered how fragile it is. My question to all you FETT HEADS is on what can I do to make it tougher. Can I spray it with something to reinforce it? Any help would be greatly appreciated .

One word for you, BONDO!!!!!

If you can get to the inside of it, fiberglass...But use it sparringly, you don't want to make your JP too heavy.

You can spray plasti-dip in the inside of it.-I say that about everything-

Has anyone ever tried expanding foam? It's usually used to insulate cracks, etc.

ITs hard to tell how much is just right or to much though, because not enough and its no point, but to much and it can bust the seams in your jet pack. And in the warmer months it seems to keep exspanding-------and exspanding.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE EXPANDING FOAM IN A CAN TO FILL YOUR JETPACK!

Do not use Great Stuff or any similar product as it will continue to expand for days and weeks and it will eventually bloat your jet pack like 3-day-old roadkill.

You can, however, use 2-part expanding foam (available at www.smoothon.com). Once it expands, it stops. Be sure to use it in small amounts until your pack is filled. It is best to have a large opening in the back of the pack to allow excess foam to escape as it expands- you can trim off the excess after it dries.

Thanks for the info on that, Mark. Now I don't have to learn that the hard way.

if your just filling holes inside the pack you can try good old mister paper mache. worked fine for me. solid as a brick...just dont use flour and water otherwise your gonna be sticking a huge green furball to your back in two months time

LOL !!!!! now thats funny . if only i had heard NOT to put the expanding foam in it earlier .

when i first tried to use it to give my pack some weight and firmness , i used a little to much and it did infact bloat like road kill .lucky for me i was watching it bloat and was able to stop it in time .

i was able to scoop most of it out with a laddle , then used it sparinglly and it did work out great .

You could use styrene foam house siding insulation. That's what my scratch-built is on the inside, and covered with styrene.
