Hotshot blaster? What happened?

Can anyone tell me how to get a hold of hotshot. His email is no longer any good and I paid him for a blaster I never got a month ago. Thanks

Hotshot has a bad reputation over on the Ghostbusters prop forums for this exact thing,I hope you either get your product or at least get a refund.

Good luck! He has been jerking folks around on here for a year now. I bought my ROTJ from him with a promise that it would be 5 to 10 business days... then 2 months later after calling him out and getting nasty PM's from him telling me that he was tired of "justifying" himself to me, he sent a shoddy job to me two weeks after my troop. He needs banning bad but most people get so frustrated that they just shut up and take it rather than make a public stink over it. There are so few really trustworthy "vendors" on here that it really gets hard to distinguish them from the scum. This is not aimed at the casual seller.

what i dont understand is how come it takes so long to get people their refunds if this is in fact "just a hobby" for vendors...:facepalm you buy the materials as a vendor, then you make items to accomodate the needs of the forum...if someone needs a refund, you should have the money, ready to go, if a refund is needed...i am sorry, but the buyer has to "beware" so much that a thread is made to warn them...why isnt there a seller "beware" and some guidelines for them as well...it makes me sick to my stomach when i see people getting screwed here all the time...buyers should not have to wait for a refund...the money should be there IMMEDIATELY when a refund is asked for, IF this is just a hobby for people...i see that excuse way to much, "oh this is just a hobby..." well, forking out hundredes of dollars to have someone make items is not a "hobby" for most people...:cheers

actually he responded to wendyfett a little bit ago on another thread she posted on about it. But instead of being sorry he got mad at her for making a claim with paypal.

Oh yes, he got mad at me for attempting a claim on the 45th day! I was sadly late on the claim but he still had the audacity to be snotty for trying to get my money back...He is a piece of work alright.

I never contacted him about the ESB rifle that I paid for, and I got my refund. I think he was going in order of people that paid. I don't know the exacts but it sounds like he may have bitten off more than he could chew, but I think that could happen to anyone in his circumstance as well. He may have used the money he received from members to buy all the materials he needed, then when it didn't work out, he had to come up with money on his own to make the refunds. In either case, he could have done things differently and made people a little happier about it.

that is the point i am making...you dont use the money people send you to make the items you are offering...that is just disaster waiting to happen...if it is a love for costuming, a hobby, then you buy the materials yourself, and then whatever you get in return is your profit...people are not making an "investment" in vendors hobby making capabilities, they are wanting to buy an item for their costume...bottomline...:facepalm

Agreed 100%.

is this the right place to post this type of thread?

And why does it seem like it is okay all the sudden to post bad things about a fellow member in a public forum? Doesn't seem cool to me.

This is really too bad!! I bought a ROTJ blaster from him about a year ago. It did take about 3 months to get it, but the quality was great. He was also great throughout the entire transaction. I guess he took on more than he could handle.

Because it is the truth. If you come to this site and do what you say you are going to do then you never have to worry about being run through the mud. Maybe there are "warm yellow duckie" sites where everyone is honest and they all sit around in group hugs singing Kumbaya... but this site is for those wishing to put together a killer tume and not get ripped in the mean time. If you want to be honest and deal with bounty lovers then you are home. If you want bubbles and rainbow ponies look elsewhere.

Either way you only have your word once in this life. Once it is gone, it is gone. If people cannot vioce thier oppinion then this site and the first ammendment are dead...IMHO>>>>>

but does this need to be posted in the Cargo Hold? No one is selling or wanting to buy anything in this thread... there is no asking price, no product... nothing.

 VERY GOOD POINT!!!

MODS!!!! HEY MODS!!!!

Very well.. I will sell you this genuine TDH thread for $50 shipped to your pc....better?

BTW now that this thread is no longer in the Cargo Hold... WendyFett... Hotshot was in the process of using up the last of his rubber. He was busy making 2 other ROTJ blasters before yours (one of which is mine). He should be contacting you soon regarding it.

I don't think it's entirely Hotshots fault. It seems he's just had a hard time with his molds. I think he's working as hard as he can to get you guys refunds for you ESB blasters.

I don't know what all is going on, but did Hotshot tell you in advance that he needed money in order to make the blasters? If he did, then I guess you guys were taking on his business risk, and i think that's why his prices are so low. I mean... where else can you get a decent blaster for his price?

I realize you guys must be frustrated that you haven't gotten refunds back... I would be too, but maybe cut the guy some slack. He seems to be working really hard, and it probably doesn't make him want to refund you guys any sooner by slandering his name on the forum.

He's put in a lot of time and effort in to this, and he doesn't have anything to show for it... It wasn't like he was taking advantage of anyone... its seems like things just didn't go the way he planned. If he was really trying to rip you guys off, he'd probably never be on this forum again.. take your money and run, but it seems like he's trying to make things right... but its going to take time.

I hope that helps in some way
