home made Metal armour

Hi everyone, bob's chest 2.JPG
I've been talking about posting photos of my armour for a while and I finally got round to it.
It's 3mm thick aluminium cut and bent in my garage without any specialist tools. I then spayed it with spray cans very cheaply, the only thing left for me to do is shoot the plates with my air rifle and hack at the edges with an axe to create the dents.
Hope you all like it.

Thanks for the compliment. First I drew out the panels using the wizard templates, then I cut the shapes out using a black and decker jigsaw with a metal cutting blade (I had to drill out the rectangular holes in bob's chest pieces) then sanded down the edges with a circular sander. It was a bit tricky bending the armour, I used photos and common sense to work out where and how much a panel should bend. I had a large metal cylinder laid on it's side that I rested a panel on and then rolled the panel left to right across the cylinder while pressing down to achieve a smooth curve.

The sheets of aluminium came from a skip where I work, I've run out of the stuff now but I'll keep my eye open for more of it and let people know when I'm ready to make armour for other members.
