Here we go....starting from nothing

DonReno

New Hunter
Well like many I have seen, I as well am new to this, and I mean VERY new. I wish I had known of these things when I was in my 20's. However I now have the chance to be my favored character of all times in SW.. the Fett man. I have talked with a man who is also a part of the 501st at DCC this past weekend, in detail. Getting me off to a good start. I am wanting to create a ROTJ Boba Fett. And it seems it is very daunting task. But Im making a list of everything I need to every detail and get pieces at time. I have been trying to watch posts about being scammed or not rushing into orders, knowing what particular items in different makes and styles I need. This will indeed be a task. Also I noted I have to make 5 posts in order to be able to buy anyways..so where we go..wish me luck lol

Thanks guys.. I was told that many on this site were very helpful, as everyone started from nothing at some point and time. Appreciate any advice and help given, and once don't, I will return the favor if ever I can to anyone else who needs help as I did.

I would be happy to get a list. Knowing my luck I would miss something and the 501'st would be like no no no lol

Gday...thought Id drop in my two cents as I am a recent starter myself...

Welcome to the obsession, mate. Im on an ESB version at the moment and have been collecting parts and building pieces since early February. I want mine to be 501st approved...(and possibly Bounty Hunters Guild approved but a few pieces are out of my reach for the time being)..which seemed daunting when I first started as I originally just wanted to paint a helmet as a prop, but after collecting a few parts and making my own armour from scratch, the 501st goal posts moved a little closer. I originally thought I could make this by July conventions but turns as a little optimistic due to my attention to detail and perfectionist way of working (if you are a creative type you will know exactly what I mean). Id prefer to make it right than on time.

I have a folder on my desk top with hundreds of reference photos, parts lists and progress which ive shared. Many pages from here have been favourited for easy reference. The templates available on here are priceless for parts you want to build yourself.

So, good luck in your build, sir. I hope it becomes just as much fun as what I have found it.

I will repeat a lot of what Chris said... welcome to the hobby. It may be daunting at first, but I've been putting together my ROTJ SE for a couple of months and it's easy to get kinda obsessive about getting the best bang for your buck. It's also really addicting, and you will have so much fun doing one thing that you will look forward to tackling the next. I wish you nothing but the best, and if you ever need any help... do not hesitate to ask!

Thaks for the helpful push....One piece at a time...and evenatually I will get there..as ya say
