Hasbro's Fett Blaster
So I was poking around the SW official site and noticed that Hasbro's posted pics of the years upcoming SW toys. Most have probably seen the voice changing Fett Helmet (which I will purchase and immediately gut for the electronics)...but they also have a pic of the Fett ROTJ Blaster. I would need to see it to scale (total shame if it's "kid sized") but some paint and weathering could make this a decent piece for trooping...

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
hope its adult size that will look good on the wall as well .
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
It's tiny. Looks to be about as scaled down as the Hasbro DC-15s.
Here's the new EE-3 next to Hasbro's Deece:

And here's Hasbro's Deece next to an accurately-scaled one:

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
That will, however, once painted be perfect for my sons mini ROTJ Boba. Thanks for the pics bruv! Have they got a release date, yet?
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I still say cut the stock off and it'd make a perfect pistol version for all the custom Mando's out there.
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
looks like if you paint it and add a bigger stock you would be good to go.

You know looking at the measurements on TK409s website and looking at the toy...You appear to be correct! The stock is the only thing thats to short...If the pistol part is to scale the whole gun part is correct...the stock would be about 1.5-2 inches to short which woodman makes stocks i hear

Thanks for the plug have a safe trip.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Are you confusing me and fett4real again?
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
No, your status still says your headed to Okinawa... lol
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I've seen a release date of 01 August for the helmet. I think the blaster should be the same time...

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
That blaster will also suit my sons Fett very nicely. I haven't heard about the Fett bucket for kids here yet? Will the electronics be worth it?

Headed there when Im done here...Not soon enough though

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
The barrel looks to be a bit short. I wonder if it's the right diameter. This could possibly turn out to be very modifiable.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I too will be picking this up for my sons BF outfit.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Im gonna pick a couple of these up on release just to see if I can customise them into a suitable EE-3 for my kit. Worst case scenario Im out $40 best case Ive saved $200.

That's exactly what I'm thinking

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I ordered two of them from BBTS, and I am waiting for them to arrive in Taiwan. According to the measurement of the package found on-line, I believe this Hasbro Boba Fett blaster is overall 6" shorter than the actual prop. I think the barrel section is one inch shorter, grip section is also one inch shorter, and the stock is about 4 inches shorter, so basically if you can get the stock replaced, then this toy blaster should be a good alternative. Aside from being a little shorter than SA, the best thing for Hasbro Fett blaster is that you can add your own electronic inside.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Picked one of these up today, here's a pic:
http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/attac...chmentid=45562
It's about 24 inches long. Since I don't have a nice one to compare with (that's why I bought it in the first place), there's an 18" ruler, scope and metal bracket for comparison. I think six inches short is about right, as azuma said.
I plan on cleaning it up and painting it, maybe selling it later to help fund a bigger gun. The sound is nice and loud, unlike the voice changer helmet which I also saw at TRU. It's perfect for a kid, and about as accurate as you could expect from one of these things.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
As soon as I can get my hands on one of the toy guns I'll post pics of it next to my Sidewinder.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Saw one at SDCC
seems way too wee.
My hyperFirm dwarfs it.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I ordered one for my son's Boba yesterday. Should be in beginning of next week. I'll take pics of it with my MR. :)
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Yeah, those SW kids helmets sizes are a bit ignorant... Not sure where they're finding these Lemon headed monkey children, they are basing their sizes off of.... lol

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
where are they selling these at? walmart? target? the dreaded k-mart?
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
in the UK - it is expected to be in toys r us and forbidden planet
but like all things hasbro - I presume it will eventually roll out into the general department stors - eg tesco, asda etc - or the ones you mentioned above for the US equivalent
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I got mine at Target. They had three in total. It was on an end cap as the toy aisle had NO Star Wars toys.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
On the MR blaster, the barrel is 9 and ¼ long. Its height is 2 inches tall without ribs and roughly 2 and ½ with ribs. The stock length is about 10 ¾ along the top and 11 inches at the bottom. Height is 4 and ¾ tall at the rear and 2 and 5/8 at the front where it connects to the D-bracket. Does that all make sense?
If you need reference, a while ago I took a bunch of pics for I believe wizardofflight and posted them to my photobucket or if you need a specific shot let me knoow and I'd be happy to help you out.

Thanks for the measurements! I'll have to wait until I start my modding to see if I have any more questions but I think that the info you've supplied should be sufficient. Thanks again!

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Well I got one and repainted already up next to my sidewinder its pretty close....but not for a full grown man...maybe a woman...
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I had to order mine from target. No Target, Walmart, or Toys R Us in the Sacramento area had one in stock so I ordered it from Target online.
Fett 4 Real - Do you have pics of yours all painted up you can post?

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Long time lurker, but this is my first time posting. Actually have some research to do on a Fett costume, so this will probably be the first post of many. Anyway, before discovering this site, I had looked on Amazon to see what was available for a Fett blaster, collector or otherwise. I saw the $600 diecast one, and the Hasbro one. The Hasbro colors were atrocious, but I comparing it to the $600 one, the shape and most of the details were correct. Granted the size is off, but I'm not in the 501st or any other exact detail group, so I just needed it to be passable.
Anyway, I painted mine black, and added some stainless steel dry brushing to bring out the details and then I sealed it with dullcote. I also added some internal metal dowels into the stock and where the stock connects to the gun for added support. I also added some very un-movie-like D-rings to the stock because it works with the way I am going to mount my shoulder strap.
The gun is actually more black than it appears in the picture, with the silver being more muted.
After seeing some of the work on this site, I hesitate to even share this info or my picture, but here goes nothing!

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Not bad Wagon. I would have painted it metal first and then black. Picked one up this weekend at walmart for 22$ Can. Didn't see the Fett helmet but saw the ironman helmet. It's not a bad size. better than nothing. It's pretty loud and the end has a big red light when fires. The scope is totally hollow. No clear plastic, just a tube. My son and I will share it lol.
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Picked one up at Wal-mart tonight as well.
$19.99
It'll go in the Star Wars Room.

Thanks Excalibur. I did the black first because I had a can of Fusion Matte Black! hehe I wanted to be safe and use a plastic safe paint as the base coat. Otherwise I might have tried the order you suggested. Actually I bought another blaster so maybe I'll try it on that one.

That's true, no simulated sight or anything. On mine, in order to totally disassemble it (so I could add my metal supports inside and so I wouldn't cover the "laser light" with paint) I had to saw off the front and rear parts of the scope. They were separate pieces that were glued onto the finished model, so I was just sawing through the glue joint. I guess I could have just sawed through half of the glue joint, keeping the piece connected to the other half of the gun, but I didn't.
When I reassembled the blaster, I didn't want to just glue the two pieces back on, I figured that would now be a weak joint, subject to breaking if any shear force were applied. So I epoxied a hollow metal tube inside one half of the scope, letting it extend out enough on each side to be able to remount the cut off pieces. The metal tube I had was almost perfect sizing (1/2" hollow metal tube, metal is 1/16" thick...got it at Home Depot in the screw and nail aisle), but I did need to enlarge the hole in each piece very slightly. The fit is very tight and doesn't actually even need glue to remount.
Between that tube, and the metal supports I added inside the stock and handle of the gun, it feels a bit sturdier and heavier. I have thought about adding some kind of a clear plastic or glass inside each end of the scope to make it look better. However, the addition of the metal tube does make looking through the scope better as it has a more uniform barrel like appearance.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I bought mine a few days ago....With the idea in mind that I can either use a pistol handle I already have and clam shell it over the existing handle...Or mabey I can find a resin handle and do the same. I'd love to see someone offer a resin handle, metal D-bracket, and stock for this. Something similar to the resin upgrade kits for the Stormtrooper blaster. :D

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I snagged one the other day at Wal-Mart. It is on the small side, but I think it makes up for it in the pretty darn good sound effects it has. I picked it up to add to my collection, just to own. I pulled a rather stupid stunt as well while I was attempting to get it out of it's container. I was using a knife of mine to cut it out of it's bindings (I was cutting away from myself, I know that much..hehe) and the knife slipped and I got my left index finger pretty dang good. Cut into the nail and got my finger pretty good as well. I tell you, it hurt pretty bad too.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I brought one of these for my sons Boba costume I'm building, sprayed it matt black and it looks terrific but it costs $49.99 over here. The bucket ($84.99) that comes with the kit is a bit too big for kids so I just whacked it onto my mannequin.
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Ill get some pics up soon...after repainting my actuall blaster i want to kind of repaint this as well..maybe sonik will post pics of the one i painted for him

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Hello, Noob here, I just picked up one of these blasters in hopes to paint it up for my Son's soon to be Fett. BTW the Helmet that people are calling a "voice changer" I dont think is actually a voice changer at all it only has 2 bottons and they both have sounds and I dent see on the box where it actually says "voice changer"
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
He's right I got one of the helmets for my boba Costume and its only got about 20 different sound effects and a working rangefinder light. I hope to be able to get one of these blasters when i get enough cash.

That's lots of time. If you're not going to modify the gun. I would paint it silver and then black. Don't know about the rest of your costume but I would worry about that first.

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Since it's just for Halloween and you aren't going for accuracy, paint it black first then dry-brush silver
It'll be fine

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I have noticed a lot of people have painted these and sold them on ebay. I saw this blaster in person the other day and it seemed really small. But I saw it in the package without the stock on it. I think it will be great for my son!!!
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
The Barrel is 4 inches shorter and the stock is 6 inches shorter which does add up to a lot. Still, I'm using mine for a party and the non- star wars buffs won't know the difference. And not bad for £20
-
Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
I just bought one of these last night. Hadn't seen this thread yet but was hoping it was a little closer to scale. I'm 6'7" so even a full scale is probably going to look pretty small if I ever get a complete costume. Might just keep it in the box as a collector item or if I do get a costume together and am desperate for a blaster I'll just paint it up anyways till I can afford to buy a full scale one. Kinda cool that it lights up and does the sound effect. Wish it was full scale :(

Re: Hasbro's Fett Blaster
Got mine at the NY comicon for 25$
i'm pretty new to this, but i thought i'd give it a shot!, it's not as nice as some of the awesome jobs posted on here, but oh well, this is how one learns right?
so after deciding to start working on a boba fett costume, i'm trying to cut little corners here and there, and over the next couple of years get better and nicer equipment.
I decided to leave a bit of the decal on the stock cause i kinda liked it, but i'm sure in like a couple of months i may just go over it.
i used black enamel spray paint, then used silver permanent ink to put in some weathering. i also left the trigger orange cause i normally go out on Halloweens to bars, and after being hassled in the past about certain things looking too realistic, i figured what the heck, and left it at that...http://teamzoth.deviantart.com/#/d310pjs
