Guantlet Help

Hey TDH,

I need your help regarding guantlets. I just got mine and cut them to size, reformed them, and secured hinges on. All that went fine and dandy.
Now, I need help securing the open end. I don't have time to order magnets, as that would normally be the way to go. I need your advice! I would post a picture but I cannot right now. I'll try to get one up soon.
Anyways, I was thinking maybe use two "parachute clips" (the things with the tabs on either side that you push in to unlock) on each gauntlet epoxied on the inside, so they can clip together. If I don't get any responses soon that's the way I will go, as I already have the clips and I need to start painting these guys.

Also, I have a question about attaching armor to the flak vest. I made my armor and would like to attach it ASAP, but I don't wanna ruin my very decent vest for some temporary armor. What's a good way to attach the armor? Should I attach it using the snap method and just remove the snaps from my armor when I'm done with it and attach them to better armor when I get it?

I'm in a pinch and would absolutely love some feedback. Thank you!

I've seen an elastic band on one side, that goes over a glued on post on the opposite side. My Jango uses a standard operating hinge on one side, with another piece of hinge on the other side turned inside, with the hinge pin being cut longer and bent to allow the closing side to "key" together when lined up and you slide the hinge pin in to keep closed. If all that makes a lick of sense lol. You can view cruzers gauntlet tutorial which is stickied in the Jango section for pics....

Thank you for the response!
That sounds like an awesome idea. Strong, sturdy, straight. I will definitely do this!

You can use velcro and cut one side where it opens on closes. When you close the gauntlet, just place the solid velcro piece to hold it shut.

I had considered that, but in the past with a joint like that the velcro comes loose very easily and will eventually stops working.
Thank you, though.
