Glove Comparison (The Truth about SFP)

There's always alot of debate and then there's alot of "that's just an opinion etc...) I just bought a friends old pair of BM gloves, and thought I'd prove to evereyone once and for all what a piece of **** SFP is.

Notice the white on fingers doesn't come down far enough, the material baloons out making your hands look like their balled up inside the glove, you may not be able to see it, but the SFP gloves have been sewed repeatedly after coming undone.

Do yourself a favor and buy from a reliable seller, just avoid SFP at all costs.

 My God, is that even real? I've heard nothing but bad about SFP, this just goes to show ya. But hey, congrats on scoring the BM gloves. It looks great!

Well, I've learned to stay away from SFP period! too many problems to list and I don't have all night. just stick with the respected members/makers on this site and you'll be fine.

I just got my caboots in today. Thought I'd show you all the comparrison between CaBoots and the SFP ones that I received. (Keep in mine that the middle black stripe was painted by me, originally it was an olive green color) I won't even say which is which, it should be obvious.

I think it's obvious why I called the SFP boots my "Fettenstein Boots" The inner soles were flat and even WITH inserts was massivle uncomfortable and has caused many blisters if I had to walk in them (which I frequently did) I will post more photos of comparrisons as I get new and correct parts, next up should be jet pack and then hopefully helmet comparrisons.

When did someone ever say anything good about SFP's gloves??? (or anything else for that matter?)

I thought it was known that their gloves at least, were just terrible. I don't like to say things like that about anyone, but this happens to be something that I have first hand knowledge in, since I bought a pair from them back in '02.

First ... they were Vinyl ~ ! Second, their sizes always run real small. third, and most notable, their patterns were made for a lifesize "Bend 'em's". You know, those bendable cheap action figures, who's fingers stick out in 10 different directions with a full open palm ? It's almost like SFP patterned their gloves off of that pose, only to forget that a real person with moving fingers will have to close their hand, or rest their hand, and when you do, you look like you're autistic :facepalm

Sorry to go into such a rant about gloves. But theirs, are just absolutely horrendous. Much worse than your pics give justice to

Mine weren't too small, they were about 3 sizes bigger. Mine were cloth, but porly sewn, their pattern is ALL screwed up. The boots much more so as you can see.

I'm SOOOO glad I found TDH when I did. I was actually going to go through with buying some stuff from them, but fortunately I found TDH before I made my decision, and Thank God!! I don't know what I would have done if I'd bought something from them, after all the horror stories I've read, like someone who got all there stuff, like a year and a half late, and it all came broken...everything. Some of the stuff from SFP may be cheaper, but when it's junk, its def. worth it to get it for a lil more from the great prop guys on here, like FP. Thanks again TDH, I love you.

Thought I'd share some photos of my armor as I got it out of the box, and after my mods and new parts...

First the original armor. Note the upper and lower cheeks are mispainted and as a whole the weathering is **** over the entire armor. The wookiee braids were braided from MANY seperate 1 inch long tufts of hair, causing fraying and a general crappy looking braid. Of course you can see the Fettinstein boots. The gauntlets are ****, the right one has 2 hoses where it should have 3, the latch broke on the first wearing of it, so I fixed with it a leather strap and buckle. The left gauntlet's rocket is WAY too small, and the tip broke off also at first wearing. The collar piece is NOT connected to the back piece, it's just there with velcro. The flightsuit was ordered size Large, but it still fits tightly. The girth bellt are 2 belts made with 4 ropes each, and the 2 belts are loosely tied together. The paint color on the armor and helmet are WAY off, and the jet pack doesn't even look CLOSE to what it should.

Now photos of my armor AFTER I bought new gloves/boots and did a paint job. You can visibly SEE the difference. and I am getting ALL new parts from the boots up to the helmet. I just ordered a jet pack and boot spikes from BM, and once I have the money will order his helmet, as well as flak vest, and new armor plates.

So there ya go thnx for reading this. The basic message about this is mainly STAY AWAY FROM STARFORTRESS PRODUCTION! I cannot stress this enough. I did contact them about all of it and was told, "I do not see how the parts were broken as they were securely packaged upon shipping" (it was then insinuated that I damaged them somehow, upon simply and LIGHTLY knocking over the jet pack over on a carpeted floor, causing the rocket to break from the rod that went into the jet pack body), "The color of the helmet is not wrong, simply one of the MANY ROTJ paint schemes, the detail is merely in the eye of the beholder", "we will gladly replace the ill-fitting/broken parts, you just have to pay the shipping to get them here and again to get them back to you" (which would have made it cheaper to just buy NEW parts form them and only pay the 1 way shipping) Basically after all this I gave up and MADE it work until I could get replacement parts. I made this thread after seeing many threads about such awful makers of "armor", even some where said creator made an account and claimed that the person they ripped off "had no proof and was just complaining" Well I DO have proof, and I want everyone to see it, without any personal bias or opinions getting in the way. Also if you look on http://www.starfortressproductions.com/swboba.html It's possible for a first time buyer, to get some reference photos from the movies and pick apart their ****.

Bro, that almost makes me want to cry. :cry

I wish you the very best of luck, and hope you're able to build a suit that you can be proud of for years to come. (y)

Man, I almost gouged my eyes out!!! SFP stuff definately isn't worth the money from the looks of it.

Lol @ frankenfett boots!

you can't polish a turd. almost 90% of the stuff from SFP is going to be unworkable ****.

A lot of their stuff can't be fixed with just paint, as you could tell from your experience here.

99% of that suit is cast directly off of a Don Post life sized statue, in case some of you did not know. The helmet was a DP 96'ish. This includes, knees, armor, cod, back, shoulders, collar, jet pack, and gauntlets

I sure hope you didn't pay alot of money for that garbage bro. and I agree, It's like putting lipstick on a pig. after you posting this, someone has to be out of there minds to purchase anything from those crooks! last year I placed an order with them for a ton of stuff only to find a thread about them on here after. I then cancelled my order immediatly thanks to those who posted a thread like this one. they should be ashamed of themselves for selling recasts not to mention telling you that you would have to pay for shipping both ways and blaming you for breaking stuff. BAD BUSINESS man!!!!!

I love those boots. No lie. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. I'm sorry that you wasted your time and money with these bozos. The good thing though is you'll gain such a new appreciation for the other fett stuff out there and will be determined to put a lot more effort into your suit. Good luck man.
