    May 19, 2011, 1:45 PM - Girthy! #1

Got my first piece of my BF armor today! The girth belt from Dover Saddlery. I've got to get myself some Minwax water-based red stain to dye it.

Anyone have recommendations for a strap system in the back to connect the ends?

    Thanks!

    1 inch nylon strapping.

Look at the ESB promo pics in the gallery of Boba Fett standing in the Cloud City hallway. You can see it very clearly.

BBF = Booboo Fett? I figure I can go to a fabric store and pick up something that simple. Or maybe an Army/navy store. Hmm.

I just used some black leather I had laying around from an old Vader belt and punched a few gromets in it...works good for me.

If you PM me I will send you the link for the screen accurate nylon strapping. I cant post a link to the auction, it's not mine. Be aware the smallest amount is 10 yards for $9.95 free shipping but it is the right stuff.

The weave on the standard heavy weight strapping is incorrect thlight weight strapping has the correct weave.

I was wondering if the stain has to be watered down (cut with water) to use as a dye or is the stain used straight from the can? I have a mohair belt that I'd like to dye.

Does the belt shrink after dyeing? Will it need to be stretched while drying?
