Girth dye HELP!! and Q's?

Hi guys, tried to dye the girth... nope didn't take, all i have to show for it is a pink belt..lol

My question is, If i try to redye it do i need to remove the old dye? Can i just soak it in acetone and do it all over again?

I didn't really do the acetone part the first time...i totally forgot to do this part (too excited)

and yes i did do tons of searches and reading... before i posted this!

I wouldn't think you would have to remove the dye that took. I would just do the acetone bath and try again

From what I have been told you need to soak a 'natural color' bought belt in acitone before you can dye it in rit dye.

Also, and this is just a 'guess' but you should use heat to set dyes in fabrics, before washing it, thats why you NEVER dry something that has a stain on it that didnt get fully taken out, or youll rarely get it out.

I had the same problem with the dye so I went to the paint store in my town and had them make a stain to match the right color. It came out amazing and the best part is its permanent and won't run on your jumpsuit. Make sure you buy latex stain or the other stuff will literally eat your girth belt and melt it like thinner does to a plastic cup.
