Girth Belt color questions

So I just ordered a girth belt but need to dye it.

I read about the staining method in another thread and had a few questions pertaining to the color. I'm just looking for some good color reccommendations for a stain and also what color rit dye does everyone use, just in case.

For the latex paint, I used Rustoleum's Painter's Touch Colonial Red and for the stain, I used Miniwax's Mahogany Red. It's a 10:1 mix ratio of 10 parts Colonial Red, 1 part of Mahogany Red.
