Right....

I'm looking to get a new set of gauntlets as I've just sold off my old pair and am hoping to use the money from them to get another set.

I'm in a quandry as to what the best to go for. I would like some opinions from you battle-hardened warriors. I'm looking at getting a set of Ruffkins, but was wondering if anyone else had some suggestions.

Cheers

i got a pair of rufkins ESB gauntlets and there pretty good. the only problem i had was the resin peices. MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE PLENTY OF PRIMER AND SANDING. the resin he uses/ makes the paint (Rustolium spray paint) clot up. the only thing i could compair to it was oil and water. but everything else is great. ill post some pics of them if you want.

Yeah, I use styrene for the shells. I would suggest washing the resin parts with a good detergent and warm water and letting them dry before primer. I use a mold release and that is probably what effected your paint.

Chuck (ruffkintoy) makes a killer set of gauntlets.
They are priced reasonably as well.
I never had any probs with the resin pieces. But I would suggest priming them as well.
Here's a few pics my ROTJ ones.

I agree, Rufkin's are the way to go. As a matter of fact, I just received my new kit today. Can't wait to start working on them. I sold my last set because I was not happy with my paintjob and wanted to re-do them. Here are a few pics of my last pair:

Ok I'm thinking Ruffkins are the way forward. I've had a set of FG ones b4 from a guy in the UK, but the flamethrower for the ROTJ was incorrect and the shells were not well made so didn't fit together well.

What about the dowel that runs along the side of the right gauntlet and has the second of the two right side hose connectors on? Is that included in the kit, and are the hose connectors?

Thanks

Yea I also built and painted a set of Ruffkins ROTJ gauntlets and they are great. Now he is custom making me a super secret pair of gauntlets . He is a cool guy to deal with to boot.

Chuck's are the way to go for sure! I own a pair of his ROTJ and love them!

As for your problems with the resin parts... its recommended that you always wash resin parts with soap and warm water before priming them as the release agent tends to mess with the paint.

Riffkintoy's Gauntlets certainly look very good, no doubt about that

Anyone in the UK make good gauntlets or will I have to make my own ? ( which I was going to do at some point anyway, just not yet ):)
