Who is the best source for gauntlets?
im waiting on a set of Ruffkintoy Gauntlets. they should be here any day now, but there seems to be very good reviews and the customer service is very good. do a search for Ruffkintoy on this forum to find him.
i'll try to get some pics up when i get mine
Ruffkintoy is the best for the money. Good com. and good product.
thanks fot the tips!
Yup! I agree Ruffkin does make great Guantlets.
Ruffkin's gauntlets are very good although they do require quite a bit of work. Some cutting, trimming, sanding. And you might want to reinforce them with fiberglass. However, I still highly recommend them. And fairly inexpensive for the quality.
man of war is the best in my opinion. I had MOW paint them also.
I payed $100.00 for my Ruffkins on ebay. I'm not sure if that's considered too little or too much...either way, they are so far GREAT (I have yet to start on them). Good customer service also...I ordered a ROTJ set, but changed my mind and wanted ESB, and Chuck agreed to exchange the ROTJ parts for the ESB parts so long I pay shipping.Dav'sa Arman said:
DM is right, ive seen the MOW up close.... Worth the money!!!!
How much do the MOW gauntlets run for?DarthMiller said:
I've seen all kinds of RotJ gauntlets. if anyone has any good ESB gauntlet pics, may I see some? I want to see the top, sides, etc. I want to compare the RotJ and ESB. And also if anyone knows of a guy who makes good ESB gauntlets too?
MOW's run up to around $250 if I remember correctly. Ruffkin's are $115 I believe, I think I asked him once. It also depends on which one you get. I think there's a ESB and ROTJ version of Ruffkin's gauntlets. You can modify the ROTJ ones to suit Jango Fett, if that's what your looking for.
Eh.. I think I might be going with the Red gauntlets. (RotJ)
The current person I already ordered from makes the RotJ versions. He didn't have too many ESB pics. in fact, he didn't have any posted on his site. So I guess it's RotJ all the way!
I know some people think that Boba did the girly scream in the RotJ situation. Think of it this way: it's also in his RotJ armor that he blasted his way out of that hole in the ground. My only regret is that He didn't pull it's tounge out with him as a trophy. Then again... after a few painful days.. collecting a trophy from his kill is not the first thing he thought about after getting out of it.
I am hoping that you didn't order from Starfortress Productions. Who did you order from? If you don't mind me asking...
I ordered the Scalps first. I got them from Richies armor.
Same thing I was about to ask! Stay away from SFPaskywalker98 said:
Thanks for the advice. I never heard of him though.
What is wrong with his gauntlets? I just want to know
A better question would be. whats not wrong with his gauntlets?
I oredered gauntlets from SFP and they were terrible. The paint job sucked and I could have weathered them better.
I heard unflattering things recently about Richies armor (and saw photo's to confirm it). From what I remember he "was" good but now lacks quality and customer service. Can anyone dispute this?
I contacted ruffkintoy and I'm waiting for a reply. What types of payments does he accept?
No food stamps or wooden nickels.InfraFett said:
I just now ordered a set of gauntlets from Ruffkintoy. I've heard good things and from the threads I've seen they look great too. He accepts paypal, by the way.
How about IOU's?InfraFett said:
Has anyone dealt with Bloodsport Studios from Ebay? I see their gauntlets advertised on Ebay all the time, does anyone own a set?
Yeah, they suck and he was banned from this site.HeadlessHunter said:
Thanks for the review, short and to the point, i like it
Yeah, Ruffkintoy or MOW are very good.HeadlessHunter said:
I recommend Ruffkin's, they do require a little work but so do all prop kits. The shape is very close to the screen used ones. Good luck with whatever you buy.
Heh heh, I forgot to ask himCaomhanach said:
I bought some off someone whos name i wont mention on ebay and they are good.
Made from glassfiber.the only bit id really pick on is the resin parts need a bit of cleaning,But im assuming that most resin kits need cleaning first.
Here ya go folks ESB MoW FG gauntlets. Put together, painted, and carefully packed and shipped to your front door!!! If ya got the cash and don't mind waiting for a month or two at most, go with MoW. Christian is good people and stands behind his products. If ya need any more pics send me a PM.
don't mean to hijack this thread but, i didn't want to start one just for this.....
Can any or some of guys post some pictures of your gauntlets (i have the ROTJ style) where you joined them at the sides....where you put the velcro to attach the top to bottom pieces. I've seen different ways but i'm having a bit of trouble seeing exactly how to put it...
Thanks in advance.....
again, sorry for posting in this thread
I get most of my Fett stuff from Richie and It's alway's The Best. NEVER Been Disapointed.pennywise said:
I bought a set and they are not bad at all, Flame thrower was a little heavy but hollowed it out.pennywise said:
Sure wish I had read this thread before I got the HIGHLY INACCURATE bloodsport studios ****! He sent me a SOLID piece of resin for the main part of the flame thrower! Heavy as Hell. Also, he uses only the right side mold for the under part. So, I had to fill in the 4 rectangles with bondo for left gauntlet.
I know I'll most likely be going with Ruffkins when I start my Fett. Does he make ESB gauntlets?
Those MoW ESB's look amazing! If only I had longer arms...
I agree, I bought Ruffkintoy gauntlets, and I don't think I'd want anything other than his. I would like to see him make some gauntlets out of fiberglass, but I think his styrene gauntlets are very user friendly.bobamaker said:
Does anyone know if Ruffkintoy still makes the gauntlets?Im wanting to purchase another pair, but hes not responded back.(maybe 2 days ago)I know theres more to life than the internet, but I had emailed him maybe a month ago about some jet pack pieces....never heard back.If anyone knows, I sure would appreciate the help.I got a pair of gauntlets earlier this year and turned them into ROTJ gauntlets....I want to convert a pair in Jango.
He's really good about getting back to you. It looks like he hasn't been online the last several days.masterblaster said:
Wait a few more days and then try sending him an e-mail.
Thanks Ripcode.I hope I can in touch soon. Got an event first of June.
