Has anyone ever had problems with using magnets in there gauntlets?
I have these earth magnets I want to use to hold my gaunts together, they are 1/8". They are super strong & Im not sure if that will cause problems
taking them off, getting the magnets apart from them selvs are pretty tough now. If anyone has ever ran into this problem, how do you fix it.
thanks

1- Ditch the magnets. 2- look at Cruzers tutorial or my tutorial on hinges/Pins. If you have any more question, don't be shy to ask!http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/rotj-gauntlets-those-beefy-forearms-49500/http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f28/cruzer-gauntlet-hinge-tutorial-pic-intense-25280/I personally did not want to bolt/rivet through the gaunt- Too much work- sand, Bondo, sand, Bondo (Waste of energy and resources in my opinion)
Magnets are for the birds
Are these the gauntlets you bought in 2008?
Any pictures?

Agreed with post above I use a slight variation of the hinge system using two hinges pulling the pin on both sides. You do need help to put them on but they are very secure.

I third that option. If you have resin gauntlets, go with the hinge pin method. I use rare earth magnets on my MOW gauntlets, and they still want to pop open sometimes.

MOW Gaunts are no joke- especially if you start laying reinforcement inside of them...
You better get 2 Days of shrugs in at the gym if you plan on wearing these around for an extended period of time... Then Add the weight of magnets!

Here's how I did mine. I miscounted my magnet count the first time around, I have added one more set to each gauntlet, so each gauntlet has 2 sets holding them together. I placed a sticky note in between the magnets when I epoxied them in place to keep from accidentally gluing the magnets together. I have MOW gauntlets, and yes they have some bulk to them, but the rare earth magnets hold very securely. The other half of the clam shell is hinged, so they clamp over my forearms and snap shut with the magnets, they hold tight but pop open easily enough. Not sure if you have already completed yours or not, and Im not knocking the hinged method either, just thought you might want an answer to your magnet question. And I just got done trooping at a local library mini-con for 3 hours with out any problems.
