Gauntlet hose... thingies?

Hey, all...

Lurker deciding to post... I've been hanging around doing my research like a good girl, I'll be attempting to make some Female Mandalorian armor after I graduate college in 6 mo. and I'm planning my jumpsuit... I wanted to research that weird short-sleeve deal and where those silly hoses go, but as I have no clue what they are called and I haven't had any luck finding a reference on them, I wondered if anyone might point me in the right direction on terminology so I can do the research :D

Thanks in advance. I can't wait to get started... stoopid skool ;)

Welcome to the board Verdaera... welcome to the madness of Fett costuming? Mwahhaha... ;)
Ok your question is seems like a two parter? the long & short sleeve jumpsuit - (how and where) and how the hoses from the gauntlet attach up through the short sleeve?
Or have I get the wrong end of a 'Banther Poodoo' stick?

Here is what I have... this info has not been created by me and I am in no way taking any credit for it - (I hope those members do not mind me posting these). (y)

I would imagine that it would really depend on what you use for the hose.
I plan on using a refrigerator hose for my custom mando.

Yup, those are my diagrams, and I don't mind at all. :)

I think TK-409 has them up on his site as well. The first diagram is for those with just one hose, and the bottom pic is for a three-hose assembly.

The purpose of the elastic is to allow some stretching flexibility when bending your arm(s). Not enough 'give', and you'll end up ripping the hose out of the jumpsuit if you cross your arms. Or if there's too much slack, the hoses tend to 'bow out' a little, increasing the chances of getting them caught on something as you walk by.

ill also throw in, if you do use the bolt and nut idea, bend it in the middle to shape it to the natural curve of your arm as much as you can :) and drill a small hole in the end of the tread to put in a split pin so your nut doesnt disappear.... :p

unfortunately my arms are too short for this method though :( the sleeve isnt that far away from the back of my gauntlets.. :(
