FOUND MORE ACCURATE JETPACK BUCKLE!!

Recently on Ebay, I purchased a lot of 2 US Divers Buckles. When I opened the package today, I noticed one of them didn't have the US DIVERS CO written on the flap. It was an Aqualung US Divers weight belt. In closer inspection with the pictures on Brak's Site, particularly this one, I noticed something. I'm horrible at typing stuff like this out/explaining things through words, so I'll let some pictures speak for themselves. Below are some cruddy animated gifs for comparison. The angles aren't exactly right, but close enough. Check out the distance between the top of the flap and the top of the sides.

So, what do you guys think?

The one without the US DIVERS CO is almost the same as one with US DIVERS CO written on it. Flaps are the same length, as well as the bases. The flap on the one with out the writing is connected more towards the center of the sides, rather than 2/3s of the way up.

Maybe I'm crazy. I can post more pictures if you like.

If I tell you the truth, I dont see that...

I personally think that the US divers match the original one, and that the non-US divers that a bigger gap...

You must see that, as you sais, angles are not the same... also the focal distance is not the same, and finally, the placements of the marks are not equal. In the MOM pic, you putted the mark in the lower edge, while in yours are in the upper... (also, check attachment.. )

These are tiny details, but from what I see... the Non-US divers is not accurate... (at least to my eyes).

This is just what I see, and what I think ;)... let's hear the rest.

In any case, nice work finding those buckles.

Yes, angles are not the same, I know that can have some play in it. I'll try and get a better picture posted for that.

I don't think the placement of the marks makes a difference though. They weren't placed in a specific place to bring attention to that area only, just put there to make you notice the entire gap. I'll see what I can do to get some better images up to fix this also.

All and all, thanks for the input. Let's hear some more. :)

Thanks Daz. I was really hoping more people would take notice to this thread. I was very excited to find this and hoped everyone would be the same.

In looking over the images, I find them sufficient enough for what I'm trying to achieve here, which is just that I found a more accurate buckle in my opinion and that buckles without US Divers on them exist.

Nice find Brian... (y)
I'm no expert either on this part of the Fett but to me it looks very very close.... and with the addition as you say of 'not' having the logo present! ;)

I'm glad someone found one without the writing. I think that looks better for sure. As far as the distance between the "flap" and the edges, I think you are both right. The distance that brianthesith is pointing out looks more accurate, but the distance at the right side that benkenove is pointing out looks more accurate. So while I don't think this is "the" one, neither is the one with the writing. They are both pretty darn close, close enough for me in fact (especially since i don't have one lol) but "the" one is still out there. Of course these differences in distance may be manufacturing differences within the same model which kinda throws a wrench in the whole thing too.

Great find!
