First Attempt at an EE-3

Ok, wanted to try making one before buying a kit. I used a prop Colt Peacemaker as my base gun because, well, it looked right, lol, plus it weighs the same as a firing colt peacemaker, giving the rifle some nice weight to it.

Made a template using TK409's measurements to fit to my gun. Wood, pvc pipe, electric tape, copper pipe, one mountain dew cap and 5 hours later, this is where I am. I have not weathered it yet, so keep that in mind.










Comments and criticism welcomed. I know I need to add a few things to it, but this was made fast last night. I made it at my brothers last night and have much better digital pics, but forgot the camera at his place. These are with my POS webcam, so, as usual, accept my apologies for the **** pics.

added a few things, changed some others, but here is the finished ee-3. Not 100 % screen accurate, but I like it and I built it, so that's the important thing. I would like some feedback, this being my first attempt.
















The barrel strips are wood. Didn't have time to go searching for the correct pieces as I wanted to get this finished. The main barrel is PVC 2" circumfrence. The scope is a copper pipe cut down with two pieces taped to the end. The stock is wood. The chamber cover is made from hard plastic I cut from the template found here and molded with the blowtorch. The gun is a prop peacemaker that, until I added the chamber guard, functioned like a real peacemaker, sans ONLy the firing pin. The stock greeblies are pieces I had lying around from things I have taken apart and /or broken. After taping, sanding, painting, painting, painting and painting some more (a lot of work goes into making it look beat up, lol), I added a dull coat to it and while you cant see it in the webcam shots, there is a light misting of Krylon Espresso and Rust.
