FettPride Dentless Kit: Adding Dents

I purchased from a member here a set of FP dentless armor. It's unpainted and rough cut. I want to build a ROTJ Boba Fett, but I'm not sure I'll be able to modify the dentless kit. Can I, or should I try to sell it and simply order a new set of ROTJ armor? If modification is possible, please help a new brother out and post a brief tutorial. Thanks in advance.

Adding dents isn't hard at all in styrene. I've been using a heat gun, but I suspect that a blow dryer would work fine.At around 220 degrees F it goes soft. Put the blower on it from a distance of about 12-16" on both sides, and slowly bring the temp up on the spot where you want a dent. Go slow and check it frequently to see if it's getting soft. Gloves will help. Have a blunt round object like the butt end of a drum stick handy. Once it's hot, press the blunt object into the plastic to make the dent. It might spread out wide, but just press back out on the sides of the dent from the underside to mold it into the depth and diameter you want. Hold it there just a bit, and as soon as the temp comes down, it will harden. IMG_1249[2].jpg I did most of these dents this way.
If you get it too hot, you'll mess up the plastic. But the styrene is pretty forgiving. You glue a patch onto the back with styrene glue and then fill the hole if you had to. Good luck with it.
