*FETT BOOTS, UPDATE 12-31

For those who don't know, Wes is my husband and I have to come to his defense about the boots. Scott took it upon himself to offer the extra spikes. Wes doesn't and never has had possession of the spikes, and I offer my apologies to those who didn't receive theirs.

I'm in no way involved with the boot project, but I do have to see how Wes gets upset because things are not going smoothly. All he wants to do is contribute to the board in some way. He will continue to get answers for you and try to make the wrong things right. He loves this board (I know, he spends a lot of time on here) and wants to stay in good standing with everyone.

I'm not attacking anyone, but I just want to make sure that everyone is informed.

Here's what Scott said regarding the plates:
"The holes in the Spike themselves have the wrong angle...I set them on the boots and they stuck out. all the spike have been redrilled each set by hand"

Hey Wes, I just want to say that I really appreciate the time and effort you have put in making this project possible.
If it werent for you, we who dont have the other boots would have had an incomplete costume.

Wes & Brandy, Speaking for myself (and I hope the others) it seems clear where the source of the delays/errors/slow communication (call it what you will) lays, and it's not with you mate.

Your input in this project was to do the legwork and arrange the whole thing in the first place. You couldn't have see how it was going to develop and can't be blamed.

I've said it before, but the hobby owes you a debt for arranging this, otherwise loads of Fett costumers would have bare feet!

Looking forward to geting mine. Any news following the mix up over mine you told me of? No pressure or immediate rush. :)

I agree with Defiler & Si. It seems like you're doin the best you can Wes. Thats all we can ask, :) I was pretty discouraged when the last MC run fell through, but You've given alot of us hope of getting a good pair of boots. Thanx for all you have done, & are trying to do!

Same here Wes, I just thought it was odd that there was a shortage on spikes/plates when I had seen them being sold earlier.
I agree with HH that you are doing a GREAT job with all this and all the mishaps have not been your fault.
I am glad you took it upon yourself to get this project going and stuck to it, thats more than alot of people would do. I wasn't even planning on buying professionally made boots until I saw these:)

I would also like to thank you again for all that you have done for us! In was really worried when I found out I didnt have enough funds to afford the last pair of MC's, then when the run fell through I was really worried, but you came through for all 0of us by doing all of this leg work. Thanks a lot. I owe you one :D

Thanks Wes- I may speak for myself here, but I would prefer to get my boots completed, with the spikes on them... (if possible) Rather than getting the boots and spikes separately, and have to put them on myself... I'm completely willing to wait longer for that to happen. (My fett is nowhere near complete, and I'm not on any timeline whatsoever. thanks

can go ahead and get on their case to
either start making these damn boots
and ship them out or give me my money
back! I don't mean to come off as being
mad at you Wes...it's this boot maker
of yours that's really giving me a bad

There are 16 pairs to be picked up this week. That will finish up the 10s. I don't know what the other sizes are.
I know your frustration, Sean. After we are done with this run, I will be finding another boot maker.

Hi Wes,
I hate to be a pain, but could you ask Scott about our spikes and plates that he told me were to be shipped on Mon. the 9th.?
I emailed him the the other day to ask, but I havn't heard back yet from him.

Looks to me like the original spikes were made from dead-centers used on a machinist’s lathe.

No matter what the spikes look like on these boots, I’ll take a pair from the next run! Size 12 please!! :)

Any new on the spikes yet? I've had the boots for two weeks and no spikes. I'm not complaining by any means, just wondering...

I talked to Scott the other day. He had to re-drill every toe plate by hand. He said he has shipped them out. Something had happened to/with his daughter's mom (ex-wife, not current) so he was kind of rushed. I didn't get details, but he said we are still on track. He was supposed to pick up the last group Saturday afternoon after we talked.

For some good news... the boot run should be complete and shipped for Christmas. There are 3 guys working on the run right now, whereas it had been one. Vic (the boot maker) assured me that he would have it done... considering how it's been so far.... I'm... cautiously optimistic.

I'm still waiting for my spikes as well.

Mail must be getting slow again because of the holidays, I hate this time of year for mail.

just to let you guys know..I saw DV1's boots at WizCon last weekend and they are SWEET! I think everyone will be pleased when they finally come in. I know I"m anxiously looking forward to getting mine.
