Fett 4 Real does Mythos

Fett 4 Real

Sr Hunter
As some may have seen here...http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/loanstar-boba-fett-mythos-version-46585/ I am working on the Mythos Boba Fett.

I am going to use this thread to show my progress with it. I am kinda ditching my ESB in favor of this (which is ESB with modified colors ie, ROTJ colors on ESB jetpack and gaunts, PP1 ears helmet, ROTJ blaster, M60 machine gun modified star wars style, DC15L clonewars era rifle ESB sidearm, a boot knife, trophy lightsabers attached to the belt and a leather pouch on that same strap, a sort of cape cloak thing, a kama with pouches, ROTJ spats) Ive scoured over the pics side show has and some other non painted versions of the SS piece which help in the department of whats what on the rifles.

Now, here is where I ask for ideas and such for making certain parts...the boot knife Im going to sculpt, any ideas for something to use that will work for this. Obviously I need it to be something that can stand up to trooping a con and such. I can reinforce it with a metal pole or something but I do need to sculpt this thing...I am going to custom make the lightsabers also with bits and bobs from other stuff like lightsabers from the toy like and other parts from hardware store and all that. I really want them to look like the ones on the statue. So Ill be working on that. The M60 Ive been in contact with woodchuck (from the FL garrison,RPF CTN etc...does EXCELLENT work as far as arming up the troopers...and BH's. Thats probably the route I'll go for the M60 over the shoulder, I do need some direction for the shoulder strap, havent looked much YET, but Ponte may be able to lend me some insight on the older looking padded strap for the machine gun they chose there. He also does the DC15L which I probably want to carry in place of the ROTJ blaster as I couldnt possibly carry the EE3 and DC15L at the same time. (ideas?) Maybe make the DC15 out of foam somehow? IDK...Id like a SR foam EE3 for this if possible...not sure the likelyhood of both though. Logistically wise itll be hard to carry both.

Armor will be FP, as well as JP. Plan to paint it all the same as the mythos, very heavy weathering. Its not looking like Im going to sell the Fang so unless I sell it I'll be repainting (adding to the existing PP1 eyes) PP1 ears. Nothing cosmic there. I have my batninja vest and neck seal, a ESB flightsuit thats going to be lightened up alot and dirtied up alot to get the weathered look of the suit. I have a set of BFUK shin tools with mojo ali, MOW boots with mojo ali, Darkside ali missile, mojo ali for the GMH if I decide to fill the GMH and use it for this...(not sure I want to do that...) May stay with the ROTJ paint up for that one. And of course my buddy Booboo Fetts ammo belt, and jetpack harness rig...along with custom leather straps for the sabers and knife....

So thats the epic start to this epic Fett Im working on, inbetween commission work, and something else for the wife which another thread may insue when that is farther along. And please any ideas for anything in here shoot away. Im trying to have this done for SDCC, make the trip down there and suit up for the event.

My thoughts regarding the statue parts breakdown (some parts were already posted by F4R in the first post):

1. The helmet looks painted in ROTJ style (or any Sandy helmet) with Pre-Pro #1 features.

2. The gauntlets are indeed ESB painted in ROTJ colors.

3. The armor is a combination of the Pre-Pro and Hero styles, more exactly I see the Pre-Pro #1 shoulder bells and knee pads, the ESB (or Pre-Pro #1, or Pre-Pro #3) armor colors combined with ROTJ colors and some Pre-Pro #2 touch-ups.

4. The jetpack is Pre-Pro or ROTJ style (chose whatever you want).

5. The soft parts looks like ROTJ (but lacks the wookie braids), the ammo belt might be an ESB Promo or ROTJ SE (with 14 ammo pouches - this number resulted after a conversation between rubio95 and me), the cape and skirt color resembles the ESB cape's base colors, but has a lighter shade.

6. The weapons consist in the ROTJ hero blaster, the ESB sidearm and the Pre-Pro #2/ESB Promo sling gun (the rest of the weapons are described by F4R in the first post).

I can't wait to see the progress thread advancing, but especially the finished suit! Keep up the great work!

I'm still digging around for the strap, and I believe I'm getting closer since I KNOW I've seen it in person from my militaria collecting:

It's definitely a sling/shoulder pad from the post-Vietnam era, we just need to find it in the rounded shape (again, I have DEFINITELY seen it in person).

The search continues, and I'm still trying to figure out the web sling for the gigantic rifle he has...

What about the sling used on s sandtrooper Lewis gun? I've seen replicas on eBay or IMA.

Its possibly an option for the DC15L, if I can get one(the DC that is...) gotta keep this thing in budget too....want the M60 more then the DC15L, feel like its a must.

Yay! I'm glad to see you're getting started!!!!! Are you gonna post one for Hillary's build too???
Oh itll be here sooner or later...all depends on logistics of stuff. Working on getting some details finished out...

I love it already and can't wait to follow this build! :cheers

A couple of quick observations:

The shoulder bells on the figure are sculpted differently from traditional bells with a distinct angle to them. It may be enough that you would have a difficult time working from FP's bells. Also, the stitching detail on the gloves appears to be angled in towards the back. This will need to be even more custom than our normal custom gloves!

I know you don't have unlimited funds, but consider doing some high quality work on the saber hilts. A lot of people will be checking out your backside! :rolleyes

So, as far as subtle differences that they have made by mistake, I will be following the screen used shapes of armor and belt and such...I dont know how how much high quality work there will be going into the sabers. I mean I plan to make them look good just not crazy cause theyre not off the shelf sabers

Update coming tonight....be working on the DC15L myself. Not gonna go with the wood...making it out of styrofoam so I can 1 hand it like Boba.
