Evolutions boba boots review!

Has anyone else had problems ordering these boots? I place an order on April 23rd, six weeks ago, and nothing has arrived. I've opened a Paypal dispute so hopefully that will light a fire.

Scott,

Evolution is pretty reliable, but it does take awhile for shipping going through customs. It took about a little over a month to get mine, so I would keep the faith, it should arrive any time. Keep the faith, I bought from Evolution a couple of times and know he's trustworthy.

yea it's sometimes hard to get ahold of them. But if you use the email on their ebay page you'll get a reply back fast. longest it's taken them to reply to me is a day if I use that email. I've been waiting for at least 6 weeks for my boots. The place that makes them screwed up and made regular boba boots without the changes but I just got word that they should be done by the beginning of next week then they will ship them. cant wait!!!

awesome thread here. I had reservations about opting for evo stuff. Ive bought one thing off them in the past (a tusken respirator) and it turned out rather nice.
There are a few warnings i have heard on accuracy though.

BTW the chainsaw boots mentioned earlier designed to stop one hittin ya foot - they sound freakin awesome.

+1 I've had all good experiences with Gabe...Like I've stated in the past, his machined stuff is great and the rest of his stuff keeps improving. He's not 100% accurate but if you're working on a budget he's the man. Once he gets everything spot on, for his prices, I think he'd be one of the top vendors out there...

For now though I don't think anyone has a much better alternative for boots...

I definitely agree, I'm glad I got his boots when he made the changes.

I finally got the boots, after 2 months and a week. I was surprised at how light weight they were. The feel a bit..."cheap" is the only word I can think of, but if they hold up then they're fine. That's my main concern, longevity. The rubber sole is a bit small in the back. I feel like my heel is extended over the edge. I wouldn't want to march in a long parade in them. They don't feel like real shoes to me. More like converted flip flops. But if they last then I'll be satisfied.

he shipped my boots last week. so I'm looking at another 2 weeks till they get here. This has been a looooong transaction. If these dont last I'll be pissed haha. Are there any ways you can see to reinforce these?

I'm looking at ordering a pair of these today or tomorrow and was wondering now that you've had them for a while...

How do they hold up to trooping as far as durability of the construction is concerned?

More importantly though....How comfortable are they for being on your feet for a goodly amount of time?

I ordered a pair yesterday. I've been working on my Fett for 2 years so another couple of months wont kill me

I read this thread first and saw that they were reliabale, and he had them on sale for $98.99 with toe spikes, so I jumped at the deal. This was the last thing I needed!

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents worth into this thread, I got Evo boots a few months ago and just started to weather them up today with the airbrush. To be honest, my first impressions weren't that good. They are indeed very very light but as pointed out here earlier I'm not exactly going to be wearing them to go shopping or doing the garden. They are very comfy and I have added a pair of insoles to improve the fit a bit better. A wee bit of added height helps for Boba even though I'm 6 feet tall.

Would I recommend them to others? Yes. Gabe's service is very smooth and I've ordered a few bits from him in the past. Hope this helps anybody doing the "will I / won't I"

Boba almost done, just waiting for Daz to work his magic........

I got an email from him the next day after ordering saying the boots were in production. Very good communication so far.
