ESB to ROTJ blaster conversion...

ok, I skipped the rust, as I am not certain they are just dirt from handling over the years in the LFL archive, or rust spots put on onpurpose.

but here it is... finished.

hmm... toke some comparisson shots today, not 100% perfect, but try holding the cam and gun by yourself :p

anyways... looks like the colour is way off... far to dark... but I didn't want a grey gun :confused

anyways... here it is... far from perfect... but it's scratch build...

because a few months ago my scratch blaster broke I was now scouting to start cusomizing one of those kenner E-11's into a custom star wars gun that would just look kinda cool.

well I'm not goin to change much, as it will only become more and more fragile.

I used 2 small screw ring thingies and 2 small pieces of wood. I screwed the kenner open (wich was a pain cause it's also kind of like glued together) and then made 2 ver small holes in the seam line where the 2 plastic halves come together.

screwed the small ring thingies into the small wood blocks, insterted them into the gun at the small holes and put the Kenner back together... tada...

I'm probably going to add a flashlight of some sort, and if I can find one a laser pointer aswell... and some nice coolie paint job like the one above... maybe weatherd some more...

might do something about the kenner scope lenses aswell... they are TOO fake...

not going to fill the screws though, as that will make it impossible to take it appart in the future for fixing or adding things... paint masks alot...so no worries...

the sound fx are still working :D yyyaahhyyy!!! Just laughed so loud when I heard them!! got this Kenner from a friend from a dutch forum for free and wasn't expecting fully working SFX, I didn't even really care, but now that theyre working... I love em   * bzzzt!!*

:) thnx!

here I just made a hole in the kenner and added one of those ISDN blocks didn't even have to be glued in, it's nice and tight in place...

crammed the flashlight in and cut the tip out so it has an actual opening...

now I need to get a PVC end cap or something as the same diameter as the back of the scope, cut a hole in the diameter of the flash light in it and put it on.

and with the back of the scope closed done with a pvc end cap, just heat it up with a heat gun, slide it over and let it cool, not going anywhere...

dremmeld a small hole in for the flash light.

The wiring was just temporarily, it is now kept in place by another rubber ring at the back.

:) thank you

and here it is with the base colour of paint, wich is a kind of brown/dark purple thing... no black... I hate plain simple matt black guns... so cheap.

then a wash of silver mixed with blue and again with red and gold over that one.

the camera flash kind of kills the look of it, ah well..

only now will matt black spray can come into sight... just a wee bit to make the purple, silver and gold more of a whole...

Dude that's sweet. I love the energy cell thing. Makes me wanna get finished up on my imperial blaster. So, your ROTJ blaster broke? That sucks. I got mine tore apart again, trying to make it better already. What did you use for the main body part on your ROTJ, above the trigger? Just a heated and molded piece of Sintra? I need that part on mine just a little more accurate, then Ill be happy.

thank you :)

I used a piece of plexiglas and bened that, the entire inside of the "chamber"is almost entirly kitted (bondo that glues) so that's pretty rigid... it's the point at the handle that goes into the chamber just at the edge of the wooden grip where it broke.

got like thousands of tips on how to fix it, with kit, glue, bondo etc.. but it's never going to last very long, so I may fix it someday with some aluminium plates on both sides and screw them together, but even that it will be for display only I gues..

here it is... bit blurry pics but...

well I'm satisfied, so after the misting I added some dusty colours and then slightly black misted again.

working LED and SFX :D WWIIEEHJ!!!

and working flash light, and an ammo..pack... thingy...

need to work on that, I was thinking about painting a new one with actual red and yellow, kind of liek the "Doom" shot gun shells you see on the floor... dunno why maybe to enhance the "ammo" idea...
