ESB Helmet and ROTJ Armor

I "finished" my Boba Fett suit roughly 9 years ago. I wore it a few times, then my son toke it and wore for halloween a couple years ago. I always wanted to improve on some things, which I have been doing. My intention was always to make the ROTJ suit. So I was a bit surprised when I was looking at the helmet templates and realize that I painted a very good likeness of an ESB helmet. Oh well good thing I'm not interested in screen accurate. I'll just call it story accurate.

Let's call it ROTJ SE and your suit is now screen accurate! But maybe some images will help...

Here are some pics of my helmet. It is a Don Post I don't know what year, but I've had it for about 10 years. I used a lot of suggestions from this site to get it where its at now.

That is a pretty good ESB paint job! As I said, you have a close to screen accurate ROTJ SE suit, more exactly a ROTJ suit with an ESB helmet. I can't tell if that is a '95 or '97 Don Post helmet, but somehow I lean to the '97 one.

Thanks, I know it's not perfect but I did the whole build on a budget. The helmet is the only bought piece, and of course it was the least expensive I could find.
I saw this quote from Joe Johnson in another thread and it how I've always thought about the suit.

"I painted Boba's outfit and tried to make it look like it was made of different pieces of armor. It was a symmetrical design, but I painted it in such a way that it looked like he had scavenged parts and had done some personalizing of his costume; he had little trophies hanging from his belt, and he had little braids of hair, almost like a collection of scalps"

I look at like he has many pieces of armor. At any given time he could wear any combination.

I just don't know how I made such a blunder. I don't like the blue ESB suit or the monochromatic gauntlets and jetpack...oh well ROTJ SE it is. I do like the ESB helmet better though, it has a lot more...character.

Helmet looks good for a budget helmet! I'd love to see the whole costume too. I know how you feel about the suit though, I love ROTJ for it's gauntlets, suit, and jetpack. The helmet however, I LOVE the ESB helmet. So I was a bit torn when putting mine together also. I ended up going with the ROTJ SE, as it is the perfect mix between the two.

It's funny that you stumbled upon it by accident though, but in the end... what matters is that you have the Boba Fett costume that YOU have always wanted.

I'd love to see someone tackle a Sarlacc escape Fett, or Boba near the end of his career... It would be really cool to see that.
