ESB Fett.....Eventually

Skypig

Hello;

My name is Mike and I am overwhelmed by how much detail is involved with Boba Fett. I have built an ANH TK, but, I think I want this to be my next build. I'm currently researching like crazy and keeping my eye on the Cargo Hold. I guess this will eventually turn into my build thread, but I see it taking awhile. I'm not sure why I picked ESB over ROTJ, I guess it's just how I remember him. I'm looking forward to learning all I can.

welcome to the forums also.
I too was overwhelmed when I started on my rotj fett version 10 months ago. there is so much info here you just have to decide which to try and use for your esb fett build.

Welcome dude, it's always a bit overwhelming researching a new build but all starts to make sense the longer you stare at it and it all comes together :lol:

So the plan of attack will be to start with the soft parts. Looking at the jumpsuit. Arkady, MOW? Are there patterns? My wife is a seamstress. Thanks for any advice.

I got a MoW 2 piece flightsuit and I like it a lot. While not totally movie accurate (the two piece design), the convenience is fantastic and more than makes up for it in my opinion. Where the 2 pieces meet is covered by belts so it doesnt' matter in my books. You will have to dye it yourself, but there are a ton of tutorials out there on how to do it. Also, the fit with the 2 piece is easier as you can hike the pants up if you need to to avoid crotch sag (sounds nasty ;-) rather than having a perfectly tailored fit.
That said, Arkady is great. I got my vest from her and she's great to deal with.
I'm not aware of an exact pattern available and with all the necessary detail in the suit, you might be better off ordering one and getting your seamstress wife to tweak it for you.

You may want to start to sort out the armor too. If you're ordering from Fettpride or Bobamaker it could be many months before you get it, so you can use the time to work on your softparts after you get your order in.

Damn, 3 days into this build and I'm already $900 in. Got in on a Darth Voorhees bucket which I'm pretty excited about. Also have an ammo belt, cape and girth belt coming from the Cargo Hold. Need to take a month off and build up the finances again.

Yeah, it's an expensive endeavor for sure! And a test of patience. I'm two years into mine because of the quest for perfection-or madness lol witch ever comes first. Don't do as I did and get the right stuff the first time. I started with some budget crap and now I've been having to replace stuff for not being accurate. So I've spent more than I should have Thank goodness for TheDintedHelmet !!!! Good luck and don't hurry.

So all builds have to start somewhere. Goodies from the Cargo Hold arrived.

A couple questions. I received a MOW belt through the Cargo Bin. I assume there is supposed to be another piece of Velcro where I am pointing with the pen? Also, what is the leather thong for? Thanks.
