ESB correct sidearm interest topic

The more I look at these pics the more I :love:love:love, I feel like a kid at Christmas wanting to see Santa and seeing all of these TDH bros standing in line, but of course I am outside of the store looking inside pressing my nose agianst the cold glass window of the closed department store.:cryIf I could only be in this line (Run list):facepalm

Your doing an UNBELIEVABLE job here. Its awesome.

Bravo.

I cant tell, because i can never tell if i can see all the pictures (work firewall) but in case you havent covered the 'split trigger guard' I have a suggestion, and its probably too late for this one, but would probably be able to make it in if you ever redo the project.

Cut a large piece of aluminum or stainless since you have a pocket machinist) the thickness of the trigger guard 'gap'.

Make one end the shape of the trigger area, and the correct thickness, and make it long enough so it gets quite a ways away from the model its self. Make it stick out of your mold.

Place it in, pour the mold and then when you demold it the area should be hollow and not need any trimming. Its possible I cant see other images you posted, so seeing as your probably better than I am at this, you probably already have this covered, but this is similar to how I overcame some of my lines in my webley project.

Heres a pic of what I mean. Lets pretend this ISNT the worst fast 3d drawing you have ever seen.

The pink is silicone, the beige is gun, the grey is stainless stock. Placed in before you put the mold together each time for pouring.

Id like to note that this is already probably better than I could have done. But ideas can come from anywhere;)

Nice work all the way around.

Cheers for the input bruv... and it does make sense but these have been moulded with the thin membrane of resin that needs to be trimmed out after release? It's no biggie with a small amount of filing. :)

(Not the worst 3D drg I have evwer seen)

Ahh IC! like I said i couldnt see well in the pictures.

But this thing is beautiful.

It what got me motivated to get the sticky stuff out again.

Hey Mojo, anymore updates / pics? :D

:rolleyes I may have a couple of pics to post later for the main body end caps & trigger I have cast... I should have the Ali main body prototype this weekend? I had to design a jig to get the oval tube made... :)
I'm gonna try for an assembly pic this weekend (If I can get into the machine shop to do a couple of things myself).

Ok, here is a small 'quick' mock up of the sidearm to date...
There is obviously the main hilt section which will house the x2 end caps push fitted into the Ali tube (not shown - Gonna have to use your imagination ), these will be held in position by a split pin (as original - last pic). the trigger is also held into position by a split pin, But I'm working on a little something so that the trigger is sprung loaded? ;)

pics... :)
