Can anyone help me.

CarbonChamber20.gif

I have this greebile (one the left), and have just seen this pic in the gallery.
Has anyone found what this part is or sell it?
As you can see from the pic the one i have is completely different to the original.

MOW makes a very accurate one. There are a few folks who know what it actually is, (I'm not one of em) but that info has not been disclosed yet.

Well,

I can't really say for sure. I do not know what it is and I don't know anyone who does. Its on my list of current parts I'm searching for.

I'm just amazed that nobody offers up suggestions of what it might be. I guess most just sit back and wait while others do the work. Maybe the guys who aquired the picture will chime in.

why is that?
can anyone shed some light on this please.
or is it politics as to the silence?
though we where here to help one another out.

This is the first ive seent his thread and pic.

I find it strange that people claim to know what things are, and dont offer it up, in an industry where everyone wants to make a name for themselves for discovering something.

So im gonna call shinanigans that anyone knows what it _actually_ is. And ill bet $100 that no one can come forward and show me the actual original part in its natural surroundings.

However, thanks, after seeing this pic, im going to create an acurate piece. Mine was just fabricated to look 'technical' but I see no reason we cant create something really acurate from thsi picture.

This is what I whipped up this morning out of revell parts.

Its not perfect, but I think its fairly close, and without spending a week digging through parts, which would mean my greeble kits will take longer to get out, this is what I have for now.

The webley + greeble thread for this, is in the boba fett costumes thread.

Stormrider looks close.

I believe it's a real shame if some one does know what it is and won't say.
it's the same as the ESB sidearm, someone had photo's so it could be identified and held back.

really hope it can be found.

I would like to thank the person who put this pic in the gallery "Carbon Chamber 20.png"
as i doesn't say.

Yah, the one I made isnt acurate. But it literally took me an hour to make, out of just parts I had laying around left over. I hadnt seen the pic above before, or I would have made it much closer, much sooner, but I dont have a lot of time left to get this project completed. So i guess it is what it is:)

I cant BFS1. But im not a someone that puts 'credit' over 'progress'. I suppose its a different mindset.

But thats the great thing about really reading between the lines on the forums. THere are those that want to opress, and those that want to contribute.

Personally, when the guy refusing to row, says 'i want off the boat' I dont sweat it so much.

As i understand, one of the reasons some of the parts remain a secret is to allow people to afford said part. Some of the parts are "junk" and can be obtained fairly cheap but once they are publicly identified the price goes through the roof.

Well thats definately one good reason Ram!! Once a part is identified, everybody and anybody who is working on a replica Fett suit goes after said part...and there are alot of us these days...newb and veteran alike!!!!!

while I do think its important to share, I also understand why some folks might not be so willing to do so.

Hypothetical scenario here: If I were able to obtain some bit of information on a an unidentified part, that took me years to figure out, (and possibly alot of cash checking out possibilities,) I think I would be reluctant to share said information until I had at least one of the parts in question for myself. One thing that people tend to overlook, is that sometimes it takes many years of difficult and time consuming research to discover a part!!! Is it selfish to keep your mouth shut and go about searching until you've got the part???? I dunno???? If I've worked for years to discover a part, and am very close to discovering it, should I announce it and let the vultures swoop in and get said part before I have a chance to get one for myself??? Again..I dunno??? I guess everybody has thier opinions on that, but there are alot of folks who do that!!!! Right, wrong, or indifferent, the information does always come to light eventually, which in the long run, benifits us all!!! While we might not all be able to get the actuall parts for the suit, most of us end up getting very accurate casts of discoverd parts later on down the road, (which is IMO pretty dang acceptable) Patience is the key!!

One thing to keep in mind...sooner or later, we will collectively have this suit completely figured out!!! With the way things have been going over the last few years, it won't be long before we've got it nailed. We've all been working on this dang thing for years, but soon, all the nfo will be out there for folks to build thier suit. Again..it just takes a bit of patience. :)
D

BTW: I would just like to add, that for the folks who have been so generous with thier info up till now, a huge thankyou!!!!! :)

Jango's kid, I like your Hypothetical scenario.

I can understand that if someone had spent a lot of time and money on this to not give it up straight away, really I can, but would it not be great kudos for said person to have his / her name attached to the find?

The cynic in me thinks that "well if I have it and on one else does that’s fine by me" the mines more accurate than yours scenario.

As a newbie here I don’t have the resources that some members have here, so I'm very grateful for all the contributions that people have made over the years. if they weren't here I wouldn't know where to start to find specific parts.

Also isn’t it everyone’s goal here to have a costume that's as accurate a possible?

I agree with "sooner or later, we will collectively have this suit completely figured out!!!

I just hope it's not too far into the future.

I guess I’ll be patient until them.

And when the energy, drug, or military does said 'hording' its blasphemy.

Some of the logic is sound, and even justifiable, however, the flip side is, if someone says what it is and one can be found, 1st generation copies can be made, making the part NOT worth as much. Because generally, the part has to be modified or destroyed.

At one point grafflex tubes were 300-500 bucks. But now that there are copies, widespread knowledge, and LESS tubes, they have fallen back to about 100-130, which is what they were worth before it was widely known to be a lightsaber.

Anyway, ill be done with this thread, thanks spidey for posting the original pic of this.
