ESB Cape and Wookie Braids Question

I might be under fire here for not finding what I was looking for using the search tool, but everything I looked at seemed to be a lot of show off stuff and not technical data.

COULD anyone help me out and take some measurements of their esb cape and and how far over/in the orange stripe starts and it's width.

I'm going to take a crack at it and play around with some weathering later.

I assume the dimensions of the cape itself are similar to the ROTJ cape

BUT i'm just asking for someone to crack out a tape measure and get me some accurate measurements

NOW before you put the tape measure away, could you also measure the wookie braids?

and for ESB, can someone give me a straight answer on how long each one should be and what colors, and how many.

I think they'd be 4 feet long, 3 of them... white/yellow, brown, grey brown?

any help would be appreciated!!

Hey CB. I'm pretty sure the ESB cape dimensions are the same as the ROTJ. (I don't have them right at hand, but the wiki has them I think)

The ESB braids, while I'm not sure of the definitive lengths, they are Blonde: shortest, Black: Middle length, and dirty medium grey: longest.

Hope this in any way helps. I'll be making mine soon, so I'll post pics when I'm Done.

I can't answer all of your questions, but here's what I do know:

My stripe is around 12" in from the edge, but more important is that the top of the stripe lines up with the top corner of the left breast plate. I'd attach the cape with your armor on, and mark where the stripe should meet the plate.

The stripe is about an inch or so longer than the outside edge of the breast plate. Sets of armor differ in that measurement, so size it off your armor.

I haven't finished my new braids, so I can't help with the length. But I think the best colors are black, sandy blond, and platinum blond. One of each. The black one loops around the shoulder and hangs just past the ammo belt. The sandy blond braid starts at the top of the shoulder and should hang to the bottom of the girth. The platinum braid hangs over shoulder. It hangs to the bottom of the ammo belt from the back, and to the bottom of the right breast plate in the front. It can be confusing because sometime the platinum braid hangs over the shoulder, and sometimes both ends hang over the front.

Good Luck!

This is my best guess on the ESB braids from the pictures & diagrams I've collected & been sent over the last 2-3 years.

The black braid is ~1 inch wide and looped. It hangs ~15-17 inches (braided) from the center of the top of the shoulder with ~4-5 inches of loose hair at the end of the braid.

The gray/silver braid ~3/4 inch wide. It hangs ~15-17 inches (braided) from the center of the top of the shoulder with ~9-12 inches of loose hair at the end of the braid on the front side. It's hard to tell what the length of the braided & loose is on the back, so I just make the back the same as the front.

The flaxen blond braid ~3/4 inch wide. It hangs ~10 inches (braided) from the center of the top of the shoulder with ~4 inches of loose hair at the end of the braid on the front side. I only have 1 picture showing the back of the blond braid & it's partially covered. For the back my best guess is ~15 inches from the center of the top of the shoulder with ~9-10 inches of loose hair at the end of the braid.

The reference pics I used are at the top of my Braid Gallery.

Hope this helps!

So the stripe isn't centred at all?

More closer to the right edge then?

If the TESB Cape is say 30" wide, would it be divided into something like:

Large section = 14" wide?

Stripe = 5" wide?

smaller section = 11" wide?

for a smaller statue fella like me, I might need to scale that down a tad so the cape doesnt become a nuisance...
