Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
Maybe it is just the lighting in the pic, but the colors look just a little bit off.
Using this as a reference:http://www.tk409.com/images/fett/cape/esb1.jpg
The brown/tan color looks just a tad too dark. And the colored stripe looks a bit too red. Seems like it should be more orange.
The ripped bottom edge looks good, just a little fraying could make it perfect. Throw it in the wash, oughta do the trick.
I know you said you hadn't done the "bullet holes" yet, and weathering is just personal preference.
There's my two cents, just MY perception mind you. I'd wait for more feedback from someone who knows more of what they are talking about, before you take what I had to say into serious consideration. Fantastic start though.
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
ya, pete, i took the pics in my shop this morning, and the lighting sucks...the darker brown is more orangish than what it looks....not as orange as tk's though, but i could probably find material that is more that color...thanks for the feedback!
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
Yeah I figured it was mostly just the lighting. What dimensions do you have for it?
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
dimensions are 15"X7"X8",thanks to gcngamer, i believe, he told me in a previous thread....:) total dimensions are 30"X36".

Spot on, that's all I knew for certain.
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
I just gave him dimensions based on my TK-409 cape. You did a really good job at making that one!!

Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
Hey Darrell..
Looking good so far (Maybe a little more weathering), I have a TK409'S cape and I have just one comment?
The centre panel *looks* a little too red rather than the orange/tan colour? ;)
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
Looking good so far, any extra weathering could be added by whoever buys one, I do agree on the red being slightly red but not much :thumbsup
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
thanks for the input guys!!! i looked for more orange material when i began this cape, but to no avail...this stuff just caught my eye, and i went for it...ya know, when you cant find exactly what you are looking for, and get frustrated, then BAM!! there's something that is close and will do the job...;)
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
what would be the best material to make the cape out of, and where can i find it?
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
Do we know the accurate material? I believe that has been debated in the past. My TK-409 cape, I believe is made of canvas.
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
I'm making my personal cape out of canvas, but the original looks like an old German military blanket to me.
Re: ESB CAPE progress/Pics
I used tan canvas material, and dyed it.
