Good stuff, man!
Good stuff, man!
Dying the girth belt with some RIT dark brown dye. I like how it's looking so far!
Think I've got the heiland weathered to right where I want it.
Looks great! What colors did you use? It looks like there is a hint of brown in there.
Thanks! So I used just a flat rustoleum enamel and then I used just a tiny bit of brown, I think there's a combo of the little bit of brown and then a reflection of our dresser in there as well lol. But yeah got just a hint of brownish gold in there with the black.
Scored an airbrush setup! Also grabbed some stain to get my girth belt finalized.
I would love to see an update on how your girthbelt came out with that stain.
Jeepers creepers been a while guys, sorry!! We'll I have started up some weathering on the boots. Will be playing around with it more. In the pics I've seen, there is def some yellow/brown (ish) weathering along with black on the boots. Just using some of my acrylics on these. Wet painting method.
So I have some of the soft parts! Utility pouches, ankle spats, and a jumpsuit. Painting/weathering to do on these. Also for the stain on the girth belt, I don't know if it is quite red enough. Lighting from camera is a little off. Snagged one of Stormrider's Nemrod holsters.
As far as "stuffing" for the pouches that is all I have for now lol
Getting some more colors built into the boots
Everything is coming along nicely. I really like how your Heiland came out. Top notch.
This piece is amazing!! Thank you Fettronics! Here's a short clip...
Hit the flight suit with some more weathering. Mostly used the car wheel/tire approach. Really nice
That looks great! What exactly is the car wheel/tire approach? I have an idea, but some clarification would help.
Basically yes haha. I took my suit and just rubbed it on the tire, the rims, and the wheel well. Worked really nicely. Black of course and a bit of brown in there too. I dragged it around on the driveway some as well.
Hopefully your neighbors didn't see you doing that in your driveway or they'll think you're nuts. "Why is mhlayne rubbing that brand new suit inside his wheels?" "Who knows, hon...?"
cbrant I tried to accomplish this under the cover of darkness lol

Woodman Flak vest and neck seal
Boba Trooper Female Mando Armor (outfit for my wife Wooot!!!)
Thanks! So my younger brother is just finishing up his welding and fabrication certification and he knows a guy who does machining...
I'm stoked! He's got blueprints of pretty much all the metal parts and is gonna work em for me. (The tip on this rocket is too long, he's aware of the correct size no worries)
So my bro asked me if I wanted to see some updates pics, um yeah!!! His buddy Mike Copeland is doing the machining. Looking really awesome!!
Looking good, bro! Looking good.
Keep it up man! Shame about the flight suit not fitting. You couldnt get it tailored?
Thanks guys! DeathProof, I suppose I could have taken it to a tailor, but I found the material a bit thick for my liking. Working on getting on made using a lighter-weight material, also it'll be in white so that I can dye it which will be great
