ESB Boba Fett Build

Viper

Active Hunter
So...it had been forever since I have posted anything here. I check in every so often to see what's happening, etc. Lots has happened as far as life goes, marriage, moving across the country, new career, all that fun stuff. I have always wanted to have a boba fett costume. I would love to do everything myself, however, time and my skills will probably not add up to a really good suit ;)
Which suit should I look into? Rotj? Esb? The Mythos statue of boba blew my mind, but maybe I want to stick to just classic Boba. I'm thinking Rotj? My wife probably will get into the costuming bit as well ;) I just need to figure out what character she should be.
Boba...the thought of having a boba suit. I want to start working towards that end asap. Probably looking to pick up parts here and there from different people here on TDH. The talent and products that people offer through this forum is really mind blowing. I can't wait to see what I come across.

It's definitely all your own preference which version you choose. I went with ROTJ because I was drawn to the armor - and most of the comics that I've read have had him in this style. While building my ROTJ, I slowly started feeling that ESB had a much more 'sinister' look. Once you start up, let us know what you need for help. Lots of info on here :)

Good luck with your build.

I got a deal squared away with my wife. ;) Stoked!!! Deathproof, I definitely agree on the sinister look on the ESB fett. That was my first glimpse of Boba that has been with me since I first saw ESB. That is going to be the suit I go with. Hands down. Super excited! I'm gonna hit up other ESB builds and get a parts list going...

Well like DP I went with the ROTJ version, but it was the blaster & the colors for me. To me the ESB is more sinister & militant because of the green. Lots of differences between each suit though. Do your research & good luck with your build.

^^^my thoughts exactly. ESPECIALLY the look of the EE-3. im just starting my ESB Fett and the first item for completion is the EE-3, for my gun rack of course ;-) plus, Boba is way more ****** in ESB, his real first appearance in the trilogy and the pinnacle of his career if you ask me. just seemed logical lol plus the ESB Boba is my son's favorite and as this is ultimately a build for him, once all my bounties are collected, it will be passed down to him. good luck on your build! you've definitely come to the right place to make all your Fetting dreams come true!

Cannot wait to work on that blaster! I'm looking into sidewinder for a kit.

Definitely look into Stormrider as well. The hyperfirm is definitely a good choice if you are concerned about it breaking on a troop.

i picked up Stormrider's newest kit. also top notch. the mold comes with VERY little needed work or prep, just basic clean up. comes with a real wood stoc too. all you need is a scope and flash tube. check him out too! super accurate greebs and super awesome dude to work with. he also does an accurate Pulce 40 ESB sidearm, a must have for an ESB Fett. highly recommended.

Does this scope look right? Aside from being silver…:D Tasco. It's a name I have seen. And the Heiland flash tube? This guy look good?

the Heiland looks legit. once you unscrew everything. from what i can see the holes cut out at the top next to the engraving look to be in the right place.
check out the extensive breakdown of EE-3 scopes from intwenothor http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=46703. i just picked up his vintage Hunter scope with correct scope rings just the other day. pretty close to the hero version ASI, and has the correct infinity symbol on it. again, all depends how far you want to go for accuracy.

When it comes to the helmet, the paint job has always scared the living daylights out of me. I'd love to have a boba helmet that I painted myself, I can't afford a commission on it so looks like I am going to attack it myself. Nervous lol! But with the tips and tutorials on here, I think I should be ok. ;) Will be looking for all the help I can get.
Looking at ASOK's cc helmet kits. So there are some size differences between the GMH version and his budget version. I am 6-1, athletic build. His Jango Helmet was a perfect fit for me. Not sure on which helmet to go with for Boba. Will be asking him about size comparisons between Jango and GMH.

The helmet is a huge paint undertaking. I put that off till almost the end. It was on of the things that worried me the most in doing cause of all the details. I know that the ROTJ is different than the ESB but still is just as challenging. I suggest using Rafal's templates & reference photos & you will do fine. Just have to take you time is all.

Definitely will be using the templates.
Bit of an update, I have found and purchased
-Heiland flash tube/system (in the mail)
-US Diving Co Belt and Buckle (in the mail)
-Centaur Non-Slip Mohair Girth (in the mail)
I am stoked. I couldn't believe I found the buckle.
Will post pics as soon as they arrive

Mohair Girth Belt and Sling Rings arrived! I wasn't entirely sure on girth belt size, so I read around a bit and went with my best guess. Perfect size! I got a 34, and there's a nice gap in the back between the buckles for the nylon straps. Here are the measurements on a size 34 if anyone is wondering.
Tip to tip (including buckles): 32.75 Inches
Length of actual Mohair (no buckles): 28.5 Inches

Then my sling rings came in! For complete screen accuracy I believe the ring portion has to be completely round (and not quite as wide)…so I am probably going to modify these a little bit.
My piece of leather for the sling should get here today so will work on that guy later. ;)

Looking good. Be careful with those sling rings. They look just like the ones I used. The metal is soft and the threads can twist off, so make sure you drill a big enough hole in your blaster.

Lookee what I snagged! Really excited about this one. The guy still had the weights that came with this US Divers CO belt. Pretty awesome. Really nice condition too.
