ESB beacon light turtorial

I remember awhile back a member explained how they took a small plastic cap from a wee bottle of hairspray (I think) and built a ESB looking beacon. Cause I have seen the screen caps and I am pretty sure it doesn't look like the beacon used in ROTJ.
Any info would help guys. Sure I can figure it out myself, but would love to get some expert opinions.
