Hello,

Just finished trimming and attacking the scope and greeblies on last night. I will be painting it tonight. I know its black, but is it semi-gloss black or flat black? Being its suppose to be a metal gun, I thought it should have some shine to it. DragonCon is in a couple days, and only got 1 shot at this before I make a fool of myself.

I will have pictures on my build thread

Thanks,

I used Rustoleum flat black primer, which is what MLS also recommends I believe. Semi-gloss would probably get you about the same. Here's a pic of mine to show what it would look like in flat. DSCF0333.jpg

NICE! ok, good. I did a semi gloss but I still have a can of Testors Flat clear I used on my armor. I may seal it witht it.. Great.. Sponge weathering.. smart!.

Ugh, I wanted to buy that gun so bad but my funds got depleted but I need a jet pack next.. That gun looks amazing cbrant! How did you do your silver weathering on it? is that air brush?

If you have a hobby shop nearby or can find it online, model masters has a small aerosol can of gunmetal metalizer. A good misting here and there gives a good look over the flat primer and doesnt make it glossy. After that, your weathering can be applied over top. Model master also has aerosol dullcote, which is what youll want at the very end As your last step.
