Dylon Dyes for Flightsuit

I was in Jo-Ann fabric the other day looking for Jawa material and ESB dye. They were out of the Evening Blue that everyone seems to use. They carry another brand called Dylon. The China Blue looks pretty close IMO to the ESB light blue, especially the promo pics from the white hallway. I've got one of Carole's grey suits BTW.

I don't know if it's the lighting, but so many ESB suits I've seen look darker than that light blue. This China Blue looks a lot closer to me.

Please let me know what you think, maybe my eyes are deceiving me. I may try this dye on a pouch, maybe I'll pickup some similar grey twill or something to experiment on.

I just used this on my flightsuit. The china blue doesn't hold to the fabric that great. But after multiple dyes it turned out pretty good. Its better than waiting for evening blue to come in the mail.

Is the Evening Blue hard to find ? I've only looked in one place so far.

It's ironic, because I was helping my mom clean out some cupboards she couldn't reach, and in a little box of junk was an unopened RIT evening blue box ! I had no idea how long it had bee there, or if dyes go funky after a time, so I decided not to chance it. Strange though, of all the colors it could have been, it's the one I need !

I may try the China BLue, as I really like the lightness of it.
