Does anyone wear something to hide their chin ?

Hi gang. I was putting my helmet on to show my 5 year old nephew and he said he could see my chin. It wasn't sticking out ( I checked in the mirror ), but from a little guys vantage point, it was visible.

I've been researching balaclava's as I wear one for snowmobiling, and found the Coolmax version. It's made for warm weather instead of cold. I normally wear an Under Armor skull cap when TK-ing and I've found it to be absolutely necessary for sweat management as well as a good bucket fit.

Has anyone tried this coolmax balaclava yet ?

Any other remedies for the big chin ?

Thanks everyone.

I wear a balaclava usually too. You definitely need it, otherwise kids are coming up and saying they can see Boba Fett's face all the time.

Leno is definitely THE CHIN ! No problem clonecollector, I'm not like that, but my nephew made me feel that chinny !

Thank you dsonik1, and I appreciate the advice stormtrooperguy and webchief.

I have the same problem, but i think it looks kinda cool though. specially if you have the 3oclock shadow. :D

I used a kahki colored painters hood from Lowes. Cost about 3 bucks and washes fine. Also soaks up sweat while trooping keeping your helmet cleaner too.

The real question is...has there EVER been a reproduction of the screen used hood that Jeremy used underneath his helmet, as seen here:

would anyone want them if I tried to make some accurate balaclavas? I dont see it covering his chin in the pic though.I have a 4" goatee that sticks way out from the bottom of my helmet. I use the waist section from a pair of thick black ladies tights that I sewd one end of the cut a hole for my face. seriously though I will see what I can come up with for the real thing.

They sell half baclava's called gaiters on base at clothing sales...I have a OD green one that i wear when its cold it would work pretty well its Tshirt material, just need a light colored one or even black? Might even cut up a logsleeve black tshirt and use the sleeve as a gaiter....

Would be a great idea Woodman! i would definalty be interessed in one. I think more people would like them.
Standard a black balaclava would do for me.

I believe this is the EXACT same thing Jeremy wore under the suit. I'd be 100% willing to bet that its made out of the same tackle-twill material neckseals are made out of.

Dangit Woodman, first the awesome ROTJ cape, then the braids, and now possibly a hood...how much stuff AM I going to be buying from you?

Oh yea, ANOTHER thing to keep in mind is that the ESB helmet had the molded chin cup from a British riot helmet. The cup definately covers most of your chin, so take that into consideration.
