different utility knife?

most pics i have seen the utility knife actually has a blade, however the build your own boba fett site says its actually a petterson chemical stick.it doesnt have a blade,but the handle looks the same as every utility knife i have seen.

so what gives?is there a different knife for ESB and RTOJ?

What you're seeing is the difference between the original movie prop (the chemical stick) and what's been doctored and changed for the visual dictionary (and the DP statue I believe as well).

I mean . . . a stir stick isn't all that dangerous so, my guess is, they turned it into a knife later on down the road. And since you never see any more than the handle in the movie . . . they could make the "hidden" part whatever they wanted.
