definitive spray can color?

the weathering on that first paint job was good, and once you finish painting you should go a similar route

more so if you want it to look like you really did some serious hunting

I just thought of this on the way home from work.....But has anyone ever taken the US MED, Panzer oliver green, and other "base" fett colors and had them try and replicate them at a paint store? Im thinking of taking the Fett chest armor color down to Home Depo tommarrow and seeing what they can come up with out of a can. Would save me a grip of money on reordering, and I can just load it up on my air brush instead of fiddling with those tiny
2oz bottles.

Def worth a shot TA...I wonder if any of the paint stores can put custom mixes in a spray can? It seems like I saw that once when I was in Sherwin Williams...but I could be totally making that up. CombatBaby I plan to but I'm wondering what you guys think about ESB weathering...it just doesn't look as heavy or intricate as the weathering on the exhibit armor, or it could be that it just isn't that noticeable unless you get extremely close...or closer than any of the shots in the movie anyway. Any thoughts? Also, here's a pic of the new paintjob in sunlight: (wow that's really big)

Which exhibit are you referring to? You say you're trying to paint ESB armor based on an exhibit, but both main public exhibits over the last few years (Magic of Myth and Art Of Star Wars) used ROTJ armor, not ESB armor. That's why it appears to be weathered heavier....because the movie ROTJ armor IS weathered more than the movie ESB armor was.

Also, as far as spraypaint colors go...yeah I've heard that Rustoleum Spruce Green is close to the ESB color, but I just made a comparison to the ROTJ armor. I painted my armor this week with the "proper" Rogue Studios found ROTJ Polly Scale airbrush US Med Green and before it's weathered down, it really is almost the exact same shade of green as Rustoleum Spruce Green is out of the spraypaint can. I compared it to the old Spruce Green armor parts I had around here. The Spruce Green is just a hair lighter of a green color. If you did the acrylic blackwash, that spraypaint color would be an extremely close match to those who wanted to use spray cans instead of an airbrush.

Ok, so I'm new here and this is my first post. I just bought a ton of spray paint today at my work (Menards) and among those paints was Spruce Green, and some of the other colors people had mentioned above which encourages me. My question is this, I also bought some sage paint and my thinking was to paint my gauntlets and jet pack with this color. Its lighter than the spruce green since in many pictures and most all the action figures and statues it seems like his gauntlets and jet pack are a litter shade of green. Has anyone else done this or do most of you paint all your armor in the spruce green (I'm doing the ESB Fett as I'm sure you've gathered) thanks in advance.
