Check out the ROTJ recipe thread by Sidewinder.... you will see the flat pattern for the vanes there. As for cheap vanes? some people have used wiper blades?
Hope that helps?
If you want accuracy on your EE-3 (the appearance kind NOT that achieved through a scope!) then I suggest either purchasing T material from blastech or making them from Sintra (a method I found works well on my EE-3's). The car wiper blades work but are not accurate and unless you can find someplace that is selling them REALLY cheap it's unlikely to be the least expensive option.
As MJ mentioned Sidewinders ROTJ recipe thread has a guide for the positioning of the vanes that you could use to make a template from.
the blasttech t track is great. that's what i used on mine...
I would also recommend blastech for rubber T strip.

Where can we find these Blastech cooling vanes???
Thanks!

10foot will do a ROTJ barrel with some to spare (maybe enough for a sabre!)

know anything cheaper? My wife will freak out if i spend $50 on rubber strips lol
I used 1/8'' X 1/2'' and 1/8'' x 1/4'' styrene strips. They are about $3 a pack. If you use the "long" ones, you can get everything you need from one pack of each. I'll take some pics and post them as soon as I can.
The part numbers are: Evergreen dimensional strips (24"): #389- 1/8'' x 1/4'' and # 393- 1/8'' x 1/2"
Okay, so officially, I am the worst photographer ever. But, hopefully, you will get the idea. These are the styrene strips fo the barrel. I cut them a little long so I could go back and make sure everything is flush after assembly.

Dude, Astromark, where did you get those?!?!?!!?!?! I.....need....those....:D
And as far as inexpensive, don't go with the T-Track..its very expensive.
Most hobby stores have the styrene strips.
