    Hey all...

Being in Australia.. our paint options are a tad limited.. I'm trying to see if you blokes think anything from the colorbond colour range will be ok for armor and helmet?

I'm after a close enough is good enough.. and most other paints I find are just too bright for the greens..

    Any input would be great..

These are the colours that I can get easy enough and cheap enough..

    Cheers in advance.

If youre comfortable with mixing colors sure...but Jayvee is in austraila and uses humbrols....I use humbrols on armor here and there but again you wont get a single color that is 100% correct there is layering of colors on the amor and helmet for that matter. The armor is not just 1 single layer of green and youre done. Good luck. There are several colors there that would be good starting points though...Like wilderness looks a little light but it would be a good starting point for the helmet of ROTJ, and deep ocean for the cheeks...but theyre not going to be close they will need help from other colors.

Hey mate, I used colourbond rattle cans on my bucket. I opted for wilderness and deep ocean. The pics should give you a rough idea.

Thanks for input guys. That bucket has turned out well. I'm guessing they can be used as pretty good bases. Thanks heaps for throwing up those pictures mate. Gives me some hope. I understand that there will be a heap of work still to do. But least I can use them as a starting point.

Yeah there's always lots of layering and misting and washes and topical stuff after... But I was in the same boat as you I think, where my budget didn't allow for a full airbrush job. Colourbond seemed the best option.
