Girth Belt Color Difference Between ESB and ROTJ

So I just received my all white centaur mohair girth belt in the mail today and that caused me to spend some time studying the color differences between the two. I noticed throughout TDH people are either extreme brown or bright red. After looking at photos in the gallery, my personal opinion is that there really is not that much of a color difference between the two. If you factor in the fact that he is outside in the desert sun on the sail barge where it looks more red versus the inside set lighting, I believe they are actually very close in color. Let me know what everyone on here thinks or tell me if I'm a dummy and missed this thread already. I am shooting for an ESB fett btw.

From judging the gallery photos, ROTJ has a more vibrant red than ESB. ESB's is darker, almost faded looking. My ESB Girth Belt is dark.

That's a color I had mixed trying to match a picture...deciding if I need to go darker but I'm seeing quite a bit of red

I think I'm going to go back tomorrow and have another color mixed in a shade of brown with as much of the red/burgendy tint to it and I'll compare the two before taking the plunge. Thanks for your insight!

I went with the original color I had mixed as the base, going to go over it with some dark browns and blacks and get pretty close I think.

I wound up not mixing anything, just used RIT mauve dye and the color looks almost exactly like Skaalaluke's photo.

yeah that's kinda what I think the current concensus is. Used to be thought it was ESB brown, Rotj red, but I think there was a thread done a few years back that presented strong evidence it was the same belt and as you suggest different lighting conditions.
