Clothears Flightsuit and Vest features

Just wanted to let people know I'll be away for a few days and can't respond to this thread. So if anyone asks me anything in that time I am not ignoring you but you won't be answered.

Darth Voorhees; glad to hear they amended that. Not that you see the trouser hem except on ESB which does not have the 5 lines.

Syper, most of what you're talking about is already in the suits I think. The arm seams could be more pronounced and I had asked them to improve that. But it's a very minor adjustment.
As a bonus while we're talking about that area:
The FS has extra seam material on the inside so you can get the lighter area to the sides of the seams. This can be seen on original suits including the PP2.

The waist seam is curved.

Yes the PP2 suit has ankle ties but I am not sure if you can tell what version. I'll have to check my reference. Remind me in a few days.

Clothears tells me they are busy until about the 21st. They have their own comic cons going on..
After that they will have time to look at the PP2 sleeve drawing I sent and we'll see.

I've got a Luke Skywalker Bespin costume from Clothears a couple,of years back and they we're my first port of call for ordering my ESB flightsuit.
ill post up detailed pics once I get it

Really wanna see rotj and what the color looks like.

Here are some samples sent to me by Clothears, on top of a Loanstar flightsuit (weathered).
First pic is in natural sunlight, the second is under fluorescent room lighting. Both taken with an iPhone. As stated in other threads, lighting makes a big difference in the blue vs. gray levels. If needed, I can get pics next to some other reference colors, or use a digital camera instead of my phone. Just let me know.

I never really finished talking about how much I love the Clothears stuff.
Now watch as I punch holes all over their lovely vest so I can put grommets in and mount my armor like the real deal!

I'll be posting more interesting stuff tomorrow.
For now, nevermind the various states of everything. The armor is all over the place and I've messed around with the soft parts a bit. ( Wish I hadn't I just can't help myself sometimes)

Its not exactly comprehensive but here how I did it for those of you who want to give it a go.

First I taped some magnets in the correct placement onto the backside of the armor plates. They are only taped so I can remove them and mark their exact position on the backside of the armor

Next I dressed a manikin (or in this case a brother) in the main components of the costume. Then I positioned the plates to match the costume version this will eventually be; ESB. I wanted all the unevenness and oddities to look the part.

Then I very carefully removed the vest so that the plates would not move out of position. Right away I laid it front down on the floor.

Last I just used a pencil to mark where the magnets are. Pop them off and you now have a marker for your 3/8th grommet hole punch!

Thats all for now. Grommets tomorrow.

I just recently learned of clothears this week and was wondering why I never heard of them on here before and boom, here it is. The vest with the precut slots looks amazing. I would a assume the harness that Bigdane makes would have no problem fitting through the holes without having to make adjustments.

Not much to report. Just grommets.

Also just messing around with the different armor paint styles.
Anyone want me to paint some armor for them? I'm running out of things to paint.
