Apr 24, 2014, 8:24 AM - Can anyone provide me with a complete list? #1

I'm wanting to buy a RotJ Boba Fett suit and I was wonder what all I would need and how much it would roughly cost. Can anyone provide a list and give an estimate on how much they spent on their suit. Is there any one place I could buy it all from? Or anyone that I could commission to build a full suit for me?

I'm not artistically inclined so I think buying would be a better option for myself.

    Welcome!

Here is a great thread for you: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f22/n...l-spend-17421/

The amount you spend varies on a few things:
    1. Accuracy
    2. Kits vs. Scratch Built
    3. Commissioned Paint Jobs vs. DIY

You can buy all of the items from different makers on here. Occasionally you will find a full suit in the cargo hold but be ready to drop a lot of money (between $3000-$4000) for a good suit. I have seen people commission full suits before - Grant had RS Props do the whole thing for him, but I trust that a commissioned suit like that would be even more than I mentioned.

If you have more questions, let us know!

Hi welcome. Adding to Deathproof. I personally still think after buying a "full" suit there still be adjustments, changes in weathering, small issues and updates and replacements from time to time.
You'll be amazed what you can do yourself.

For sure, Micheltenc! There will be some adjusting depending on your height/weight difference (especially with soft parts)...and good luck finding someone with a full suit who has the same shoe size

Really its more like everything is just toward the higher number... really.

And EXPECT to wait a while for things...unless you buy something that is already to go and made used from someone selling off their old stuff things are not made and most vendors have a backlog of other people already in line for stuff

Do you think people who build their own end up paying more in the end due to trial and error? I'm sure it's still cheaper to build you own, but as I said I'm not artistic at all and I'll most likely end up ruining things and having to spend more.

Not neccassarily pay more but possibly if they buy things twice perhaps, but if you get the parts send them out to have them painted then you can get a good result...but if you buy things that are pre painted from say Bobamaker you will end up paying out the butt

aim about $1200 into my suit and it's fairly solid.the high priced items are your JEtpack, gauntlets, helmet and blaster. The soft parts can be made if you know someone who knows a ton about sewing. I swapped art lessons for all my soft parts with a friend and it saved me a bunch. All of the folks here who build and sell stuff make top quality pieces. This is not a cheap costume and it is amazing all of the info on this site to help you along. Plus for all of us being fans of a bad bounty hunter the community is super helpful. You have to decide what is your goal. Fun passable fett for parties and Halloween, a solid fett for cons, or a 501st approved fett. The difference is in time and money. Enjoy and happy hunting.

I have about everything I need right now to make a suite that appears complete. So aside from any electronics I want or special things like that I've spent about $300-$350 on mine so far, but I built almost everything I could and shopped ALOT for the lowest possible price on materials or items. If I had bought everything would have been waaaaay more. I'm not going for 501st Boba, but definitely don't want something that look like it came out the clearance section of a wal mart. Alot of it is fun for me and maybe down the line I'll upgrade, but for me it's fun to build and I'm not aiming for screen accuracy.

I want an RotJ suit. I don't care to join the 501st but I'd like a very accurate suit and not a wal mart looking one. I just love Star Wars and have wanted a Boba Fett costume for as long as I can remember. This isn't my first time browsing this site, I just normally get overwhelmed by how complicated it all seems and stop looking but after going to FanX in UT, I decided that I really do want one for the next comic con an Halloween. I appreciate everyone's help, I'm looking into something that will work out for me. I admire all of the hard work, effort and love you all put into your suits!

Yup, pick a version that you really prefer and start with something in that scheme. Most parts are going to lock you down version specific, unless you desire a mashup of different versions.
