Hi,

I'm going to attempt to build a Boba Fett ROTJ costume for my 11 Year old Son.
Building it from scratch for the Calgary Comicon.

I Started the project back in January... Finally decided to post the WIP pictures.

Let me know what you think.

Using this guy as a model and the 501 reference.

Will be doing knee pads and Flight Vest next.

Stay tuned

Added the Visor to the helmet...
Leason learn: When calculating the size of the helmet I forgot account for the size of the visor and position. Since the Visor is 6mm and it's glued to the back of the opening, I should have added an extra 2 ~ 3cm. Now my sons nose is hitting it.

I have a bad feeling about this...

Picked up some Dickies coveralls. I was hoping to use some dye remover to get it close to white or light blue but this is what it ended up as. :/

I tried Rit dye remover and iDye color remover, should I try bleach?
It's a 63/35 polyester/cotton blend.

I've read that maybe I can use acrylic paint to get it whiter but I'm not to keen to the idea.

Any recommendations? And I don't have much time left

You can try bleach on the inside of the pant cuff or something, but it may not do what you want. If not, you can try staining lighter with acrylic stain.

Missing a few grooves here and there but overall decent. Going to start filling gaps with auto body putty and sealing with mod podge

Looking good, great work.

As for the dickies coveralls.... Yeah they don't bleach very well. I cut a pocket out of my pair and let it soak in just bleach for a couple of hours and it became slighlty slightly lighter. I figure I keep trying and it will reach a close color.
