CA Boots

Don't know about the elastic, but I think you may be on to something with the white fabric dyed grey or at least a lighter grey dyed darker.

WooHoo This is my 1000th post! :D

To me it looks like the back side of one piece of elastic (the longer piece) and the front side of another, and the piece of elastic they used wasn't long enough so they needed to add an extra piece.... I know what you mean about the edge, kinda like when you buy a piece of fabric, it has that bias on the edge to keep it from fraying, but I still think it's an extra piece of elastic ;) What I find strange is the extra fabric at the very top behinde the elastic, makes me wonder if they didn't try to cover a pre-made shoe .... I know that has been considered.

Has anyone else ever noticed how right above the sole, there is a line of stitching running parallel to the sole? It doesnt seem to run very straight (when compared to the sole) which could strengthen the theory that they covered a pre-exhisting boot. It looks like a cover was made and then sewn to the original boot. It does seem like a hard area to get to to sew, but it is possible.

OK, that sounds good. I had a thought. What if ... (famous last words  ) What if the White boots made for the Albino Fett (was originally supposed to be a type of super storm trooper) were vynil like the stormtrooper boots and they didn't want to paint them, or couldn't without the paint cracking off and were covered with fabric, and the elastic they used wasn't long enough to cover the side.... so they added a little piece  I was looking at the albino Fett pic (only one shows the boots) and I can't see any elastic on the side .... or it's just white, or the resolution just isn't good enough to see it. I'm pretty sure the albino Fett boots were reused, hence the white soles, not that they wouldn't use white soles on a new pair of boots ... but why waste a good pair of shoes :p

I have to say I really like CA Boots and their fast shipping. I just received mt Stormtrooper boots yesterday, they arrived fast and they are excellent as far the workmanship.

Again, I thought we had already hashed out the original color of the boots with pic evidence, but I guess now is good time just to reaffirm that the boots were originally all white- quite possibly down to the elastic.

This information has been cofirmed by the person who originally painted a couple pair of Fett boots.

Okay guys, I "talked" to Michelle via Joey Sanchez email and here is her reply to my questions about the Fett boots..."We are already in the process of making the changes recommended to us by so many Boba Fett fans, so if you would like to place an order they will be canvas with a sleeker look to them."

"Yes the price for the Boba Fett boots is still $100, you can order them
using the link below."

We are close.

The factory is doing final assembly this coming week, so we should have them here in about 10 days.

So Sept 1st is looking good.

Cuts it close for DCon, but I'm still hopeful. :D

I got an email about a week ago that said that they will probably be going out in about another week. So I am setting patiently bare footed waiting for the boots.

Can't wait

Purchased mine on 6/30 and also waiting barefoot :), but it was a pre-order so understandable.

I also just found out they changed to canvas... this mean mine won't be leather and will be canvas? Or should I have notified someone?!?

Dammit I hate being out of the loop.

sweet it seems that I've decided and discovered this hobby just in time for all the kool parts ^_^

Dude! That is an awesome white Fett suit. That is how Jango should have been. I may have to be like you. I have most of my gear. My challenge recently has been trying to get a jumpsuit. Send me a reply with how you got everything so white. Did you paint the cloth?

John,
If you're inquiring about the "Albino Fett" pictured above, that is the original Boba Fett outfit, photo from Lucasfilm Archives. Not an outfit that belongs to anyone on TDH :D.
