BudgetFett No. 4 Interest Webley Scott Resin kit

Well, I just found out about this thread a couple of weeks ago, and I PMed Seven, and got on the stand-by list, but I thought I had better post here too, just to make sure my name stays in the running for the 3rd run, or any extras that might show up. Even if the 3rd run, is a bit more, I would still totally be in for one, and depended on price maybe 2 (would like to do both versions, but If I had to choose, totally ROTJ. :) ) And a 3rd run, in the new year is fine, it will give me a chance to get xmas out of the way, and pay off a few bills. :)

These look great, the price is amazing, and the tutorial is a very nice touch. Seven this is a really gift to the community. :)

Now, I'm going to go cross my fingers that a 3rd run does happen, and at a price I can afford. :)

I am still waiting for more resin to arrive, it should be here by the 3rd. I am going to do as much casting as humanly possible to get as many kits shipped out before Christmas. I will be in Southern California Dec 6-13th on vacation.

I'll let each of those whom already paid know when their kit has shipped. I havn't shipped any yet as I currently have 30 half completed kits. I am now working of the other half of each kit.

Quick update where I currently am in casting:
I currently have all the grips, barrel releases, triggers and trigger guards completed for all 30 kits. I have a dozen handles and brackets completed, a few stocks and zero barrels (besides the one test barrel).

I am going to cast up some barrels tonight, hopefully they will come out perfect and then I will begin to ship. Thanks everyone for your patience. I know that most of you want it in time for Christmas, and I will do my best to ship as many as I can before then.

I am back from Vaca and now it's time to get back to work. I have three more kits just about ready to go out the door...however it's snowing here right now...but I am going to try to ship the next few kits out tomorrow.

The snow here was too bad for me to get to the post office like I wanted to. However, being stuck at home at least allows me to have more time to do some casting. I'll try to get to the post office as soon as the weather permits.

On another note, I have some bad new for those hoping that they could get the kit by Christmas. It doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate with me and allow me to get them shipped in time to arrive by then. I do apologize. Hopefully I can resume shipping after the snow melts some. Currently everything has like a 1/4 inch of ice on it.

No probs mate, just curious. You are doing so much work, that it would be insane to do everything at once. I'm currently working on my proton pack, so this can wait a bit. A big THANKS to you for making these. Take your time, and don't burn yourself up on the task..

some kits just need the barrel and they are done and ready to ship, others need the stock too, while the ones on the end just need the stock, barrel and handle and all should be done. I am ordering more resin today.

I'll start taking payments for the second run once the first run is in the bag (all kits have been shipped out). No reason for me to take it now, as they wont be able to ship till the first run is done anyways. Thanks again everyone for your patience.

The resin did arrive and I got to pouring Wednesday night.

Unfortunately due to one thing or another two of my molds bit the dust. So, I have more silicone and am making new molds this weekend.

I shipped out the majority of the parts for the kit and will ship out the second half of the parts in a separate box. That box was over 7lbs. Which brings me to a thought. If anyone is interested in having me ship them what I currently have to them now, let me know. I can ship the remainder of the parts when they are done if anyone wants to get started. The only catch is, I didn't factor this in shipping costs, so if this is something you might be interested in and are whiling to pay for the additional shipping, I can send you your kit in two boxes.

Closer inspection always brings out the flaws in everything. Just as a reminder the kits will need sanding, filling and hardware. I wouldn't classify them as $200 kits for $45 (but they do have the potential). But they are great for those on a budget.

I do appreciate everyone's patience so far. My work schedule is going to be increasing in hours, so most 'free' time I have available to work on these will be weekends in-between my second job.

I think I am only waiting on a barrel :?

For the price, we shouldn't worry about putting some work into them to make them shine!! I'm just grateful that I can have one at all! It'll be fun to work on it when it arrives! :D

Received my kit in the mail today...........outstanding work. I was surprised to find that the barrel is hollow. Now it's time to get cracking.

Well I am happy to say that I am now half way through the paid orders on run No. 1, I am hoping (key word) that I will get through the remaining half before the month is up.

Just as a side note, international orders shipping time frame can be up to three weeks.

I just finished a new mold for the stock, handle and am now casting the barrel in two parts to make it a bit easier for me.

Casting the barrel in two parts? Like a left and right side?

Not a left and a right, but a full shaft (with some excess of the loading chamber) and a complete loading chamber.

It was mainly done so I could cast quicker and easier. Plus I was pulling more unusable barrels then I was usable ones. So, I am trying something different.

Speaking of 'not-perfect', I am growing a small collection of parts that are in poor shape, but don't have the heart to thrown them out. I hate the idea of 'wasted' resin. If anyone wants them, they would need a lot of TLC or at least someone with skills. Just a thought.

I ordered more resin and it should be arriving shortly.

If you can put together a complete kit with the cast-away parts, I'm willing to take a shot at that TLC that shinobi mentioned :) Could you take a pica of the parts?

I'll use the same bondo-like polyester filler I used on my SgtFang resin bucket.

Depending on price, and maybe some pics. I would totally be in for a set (or as close as you can get to a full kit) of the bad castings. I'm not skilled, I'm just used to working with really bad kits (not that yours is) so I wouldn't mind.

I would still want too be on the "stand by list" for a 3rd run, but this would give me something to do in the mean time. :) (can't have too many Fett blasters. :) )

Any idea when you may be finished shipping the first run out Seven??

I just shipped out 5 more kits, and the next five are on the table, and should be done and in the mail within this next week or next.

OK, here is a pic of the barrel and the handle of the kits that need a lot of TLC. They didn't met the bar, but I didn't want to throw them away and waste the resin. Two of the barrels have a hole in the shaft and one in the middle end fin is broken off (should be two fins). The handles are chaulk full of airbubbles and would need a lot of sanding to smooth out. They are perfectly workable, especially if you are doing a ROTJ (as the barrel gets a face lift anways).

These would come with a everything for a complete kit, but just offering them up if anyone wants to take a crack at a challenge.
