    Budget ROTJ blaster kit...Interest???

    Hey guys, Little Fett here.

I've been wantin to try my hand at mold-making and casting (NOT recasting of course), and at the risk of having to get a real job this summer, I thought that a budget ROTJ blaster kit might be a good place to start.

But before I take the plunge into this world of RTV and silicone, I need to know if anyone would be interested in buying my casts. The emphasis on BUDGET kit means that the price would be about $50 plus shipping.

So I wanna know; is anyone interested?......Am I waisting my time?......Should I just get off my lazy butt and get a real job (not likely)?

    Thanks,

what are you going to be casting? a real webley? or are you going to actually "make" a webley? since it is a found item, i dont think there are any rules about recasting the webley...however, recasting people's barrel mounts, and stuff they actually created will cause a problem...=)

obviously a budget blaseter at the price you are suggesting would be nice. i'd agree with fett dad. more details on what you are planning, and what the potential blaster would look like is impt.

    good luck in the endeavour!

I'd be stupid NOT to be interested in a budget blaster like this, for that price Pending the aforementioned concerns, of course. That and I'd actually be much more interested in a budget ESB rifle, but ROTJ would be cool too

    Keep posted!

Seven has done something like this before, just a bit ago...here is his thread...

    http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showt...ght=budgetfett

he used an actual webley to make the casts...so if this is something you are thinking about, that is awesome! =) make sure to let people know what they are getting into...the cheaper the kit, the poorer the cast, meaning the more work...there is no comparison to budgetfett casts to say, oh, stormrider's casts...ya, more expensive, but basically with stormrider's kits, take em out of the box, put the greeblies on, and your done...=)

I'd certainly be interested in a budget ROTJ blaster kit, but as others have pointed out, we need more info! Design ideas, materials, construction requirements, pre-assembled parts, ease of assembly, and so much more.

Just my two cents but my experience with threads like this are better spent making one for yourself in the way and budget you want it done in. I'm sure you'll find better methods and/or alternative materials along the way to make it great and less expensive (trial and error kind of stuff). Once you have a finished product that's for you and the project came in on your budget, I'm sure if you posted completed pics, turn around time, and actual costs you would not only generate more business but the assurance that it's already been done. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would like a less expensive alternative but I would bet dollars to donuts that if you had a finished product with more info you would get a lot more interest. I'm half a wake right now so did any of that make sense? Best of luck to you if you decide to tackle this. I'm sure you would get a lot of orders for people who can't necessarily drop the cash for the higher end items and then you could invest in a higher end blaster yourself...LOL.

I think we need to see a product first ity all good and well to say youl make this and that but it can be trikyer than tyou think , so what blaster do you want to cast and is it a scratch up or an original peice , if its an original peice i think youl have buyers but we need to see ity first
