Budget fett costume help

Tobot

New Hunter
As the title states id love some help from the experts here on putting together a budget fett costume for around the £400-500 mark.

I do have some fairly good building skills as I've built a screen accurate gb1 costume a couple of years ago , so I'm not afraid to work with filling/sanding casts , paint etc and I also know the value and great feeling that comes with building your own costume.

i was initially only looking at doing a boba helmet but now I have the bug and I'd quite like a full costume, to begin with just for Halloween this year so it doesn't have to be complete or even fully accurate but I would like to have a good base costume to add to and eventually build up to a full ESB costume

so I think basically I'm looking for

a helmet

soft parts

armour pieces

boots

NO jetpack (yet)

decals and paint I can take care of

can this be done for around the £400-£500 mark ? Or is that wildly unrealistic? I know I'll completely regret buying a rubies supreme and adapting it

I've been looking at bobamaker and it seems like their stuff is quite nice and within my budget, anyone have any experiences with them

I'm doing a budgetish costume and I've currently spent about £500, with building materials all in. I spent a lot more on superglue and bondo than I expected and I've still got the soft parts to buy. If you can make your own flight suit/vest/neck seal, you'll save a quite a bit. I went with Empireprops which was the cheapest but still setting me back a few.

Same problem as above. You run into the situation where you end up spending more on the manufacturing of your own parts than you would have just purchasing a pre made piece from one of the makers. My original intent was to build a low-mid budget Fett, I have long since given up on that, I am into my Fett for well over $1500 CDN now.

I appreciate how addictive it is when you're chasing that perfect costume, my gb1 took me a year and I was well over £2000 into that as I was only using original found parts where possible

Bobamaker is a great maker. Not the cheapest, and a fairly long lead time. But he is very trustworthy and hits his mark. And did you say budget? You'll soon forget all about that....

The best low cost helmet you can get would be from either Asok or animefan. They don't have the wait time of BM, and they are less money too.

The animefan helmet is pretty much what I've decided to go for now, I would really like to use boba maker for the suit and soft parts

Also depends if you are in the lower 48 or across a pond. If you're in the EU then Daz's (BM) shipping is much lower. If you are in the US, and don't have sewing skills, look up Arkady here on the forum for her "budget" flight suit. One of the best purchases you'll make.

Is Loanstar still making soft parts? I wonder how much his stuff is. I think he was based in Germany so shipping wouldn't be too bad...

He still makes suits as far as I know. He just contacted me about getting 4 of my light kits.
