New Hunter
I've recently become aware of the 501st, and was considering the Boba Fett costume. I am anything but a handy man, so I was wondering how many people have actually bought the parts for the Fett costume rather than making them. There is no way I could make the costume myself. I'm as bad a handyman as the Stormtroopers are at shooting rebels.

Most of us buy the parts from makers here on the board. You do however have to trim, finish, and assemble it yourself. Do some browsing around, you can find build theads galore and will run into makers as well! Some members also do paint work. Be prepared to spend alot of cash over all though! My Fett is in the ballpark of 3,700 bucks!

it depends on how accurate you want it to be, and how long you are willing to wait to find the parts and on runs.. im trying to be as screen accurate as i can, so finding the "correct" parts is what is slowing me down. iv been working on this project for over a year now and im about 40% but i have another 20% on order that has taken almost a year to get here... sometimes you can buy full sets (usually being parted out) in the cargo hold area, (sometimes if its been painted it will cost more) I found my TK was much easier than Boba, just for the simple reason that you can buy a kit with all the parts and assemble it. no paint or anything... and if you are familiar with your garrison near your house you can have an armor party to have people help you put it together. My advice, get antiquated with the people in you're garrison if you arnt already, go on a troop or two as a "handler", if Boba is what you have your heart set on, start collecting the parts and if you need help putting them together call someone to help you. by the way, Boba is one of the more expensive costume characters. good luck to you.

I worked on my Boba for about 4 years (on and off). The end results are quite pleasing. You can get most everything you need from here, just be patient and don't rush any decisions. Explore, investigate and ask. Many very talented people here who are ready and willing to help. Good luck!
