Which boot spike did you loose first?

Which boot spike did you loose first?

Are the inner or outer boot spike most vulnerable? I have the spike on one side glued and one side with screws (look here: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=35107 ), and wonder if I should put the glued one on the inside to keep it a little bit protected. But then again, it's always the big toe you hurt when you accidentally kick something.

why dont you just watch where you are going... i think it is inevitable messing up toe spikes...the amount of trooping that we constumers do is way more than what Jeremy did when filming...so ya, when we get on the street and troop, i dont know if there is really any way to keep spikes from falling off...would love to know if anyone has come up with a method?

i have RussRep toespikes, and both spikes are screwed in from the inside...i have not trooped yet in them, but getting them tightened down, and a little jb weld on the screw before mounting them, seems like that would hold them on pretty good... good luck friend!

You can bang either really, if ihad to choose I would have the outer as the strongest.

As for mounting tips, I have russ rep on caboots. The sole is not the best for holding screws properly, but they go in and have a good go at holding on. I found the most likely issue was banging and it becoming loose on the screw. I now have the spikes screwed on tight and super glued, screwed to the sole with some hot glue all arond the bottom edge to help out everything else, so far so good.

Thanks a lot! I think I will use E6000 to glue the whole thing to the boots. Are the screws that goes into the soles annoying in any way when you walk? Or don't you feel them at all? I was wondering if I should shorten them just a bit, or leave them as they are.

i would think longer the better...comfort may come into play, but to keep the brace on better i would say longer...

I would have to agree with Bobby on making the outer the strongest. For me that was the one that got snagged the most and almost twisted off when I tried to walk across my father's horrible 70s shag carpet when we went to visit him.
