BOOT HELP , ANYONE ?

ARAGORN

hey all
managed to pick up a pair of (nearly) similar boots for my b/fett project on ebay for £24 so not bad for a start.i am looking for a little guidance on covering the boots with fabric .i think the main problem is going to be shaping the fabric round the toe shape of the boot without creasing/folding the fabric .i know from previous work ihave done like applying vinyl transfers etc onto a shaped/domed item it really creases but i was able to use a heat gun to make it work.i think working with fabric will be a little differnt.any help would be great.
cheers

My first boots were converted Converse High Tops. I was able to wrap the back and sides of the boot with one piece of fabric and fabric glue, then I went back and trimmed off the excess. The toe was covered with a separate piece that was made up of three shaped darts and four pieces of piping all sewn together. That was glued over the toe, and rubber sealant tape went around the sole to hide the edge of the fabric. Hope this helps.

Well I tried to find pics of them yesterday, but couldn't track them down. I sold these off a couple of years ago, but I might still have better pics on a disc.
