Boot colors

I am going to a craft store this weekend and I'm looking to scratch build my boots. The base boots will be brown leather(or suede I don't remember) ones I saw at target a while back. What colors should I look for and what type of paint should I use that will stay on the boots and not crack?

My target boots, I used spray primer and acrylic craft paint on leather....if they are suede you might want to use fabric paint.

I agree. I used acrylics on my target boots before i upgraded to the MOW boots. It held up very well. Those boots are onto their 2nd user now
