Hi Denters
I have just started to scratch build a jet pack and thought I would share. This is my second bite of the cherry, my first pack is almost complete, here it is....
Still needs some painting to finish.
Anyway....I have learned loads from my practice pack and now feel ready to iron out the areas which were not quite right with the first pack for one reason or another.
My objective here is to get as screen accurate as I can and then maybe cast and offer packs like the other budget Fett items that have been listed recently, but for this to happen I would need help ad advise as I have never cast something like this...anyway some photos.
Day 1 (6 hours) Most of the sintra parts are cut to size. I use a basic craft knife and take my time, trying to get the correct edge, straight of beveled as equired.

The fuel tanks are a little low due to nothing to hold them in place yet.
Sorry for the poor quality photos, will do better in the future!
This is going together so well, every thing lines up as it should and fits together perfectly. I have used superglue to get the initial purchase, then a weld style seal inside with a hot glue gun, will try and get a shot of this and post it. I should also mention I am using WOF 16.5" templates and they are amazing, big thanks to Alan and Gav.

From memory the side sections are 72mm and 188mm long - but I am using the 16.5" patterns, not the 15" (or studio scale?) On my first pack I went with 67mm, which is a common down pipe section for rain water guttering. As for the centre section, I used a section of guttering, which looked pot on when I offered it up to the templates, I was gonna use the guttering to form foam board over, but the plastic guttering was bang on...happy days.

I have been short on time and stretched with other projects, but making real headway with them now so thought I would up date for anyone still reading

The missile is to get a little touch up with a new knurled section (which will have more detail) and the main thrusters are being manufactured very soon by a precision engineering firm I have used through work before. I have decided to cast the top of the missile housing separately (I think it will be easier that way). I have also ordered most of the 'found part' greeblies to cast or supply original parts. I also have another meeting with my machine shop tomorrow to get an idea on what is involved in getting the metal frame off the ground for the harness
